Restoring Lockdown Bar Receiver?

    Is there a way to clean or paint a lockdown bar receiver to look close to original? I have replacement labels.

    Couldn’t really find anything existing on here or the web.

    I’m cleaning up a JD and the lockdown bar is badly stained with some minor rust.

    Not sure what kind of coating/plating is used on these but it diesn’t look like it can be sanded like stainless.

    Great, thanks for the advise. I just got done refinishing it. Came out pretty good. Used a red scotch bright pad and fine sanding block.
