1970 Midway White Lightning Restoration
Dig the hillbilly theme of this one. Thought it might be cool to rig it with some bluegrass or folk banjos playing in the background

To my delight, I plugged it in and it actually works! Well mostly.
Broke it down a little while ago.
Tracking down new score reel plastics and nylon pellets.
Could use a better backglass but I can touch it up if need be.

This will be fun and cannot wait to see the finale.
Thanks. Should be a bit easier than those Sega games kicking my butt.

Wow that is really similar. What a beauty.
Quoted from bob_e:the gun is very similar to a Browning Challenger
So glad you are off that grown up house remodeling stuff for now and back to games!....Hows the Haunted House coming?
Excellent!
I see Atari football in the background on one pic. Love that game also. I remember severe trackball burn.
Still remodeling. I'm completely redoing the inside and out. I only had a little time so I wanted to get this broken down and ready for next steps. Probably get back to the haunted house in a couple months. The stencils are done though so I could cut some if someone needs them.

Yep, I've got a 2 and a 4 player restored. Can't wait to play them.

That seems too high. Maybe if it's in excellent condition and working. There's one on EBay for $1100US.
Quoted from novaguy:I know a guy here in Ontario that has one of these for sale for $2300.00.is it worth it?
After seeing yours, it might be time to pull my White Lightning out of storage, been there a long time
You can get the 11/16" balls from Salem ball, http://www.salemball.com/ that's where I purchased the ones I put in my Midway Deluxe shooting gallery . They were perfect.
Awesome! Thanks for the link.
How does your machine look?

Question about the White lightning if anyone knows. What size legs should be on these machines? And are the legs supposed to be shorter in the back compared to the front? Thanks.
I will be following the progress of this restore and will probably have some questions for you later. I am picking up a White Lightning later today that is going to need some work. The cabinet has been repainted all grey so it will need to be redone eventually. @pacman, I would be interested in a set of stencils if you make some. And thanks for posting the link for the plastic balls. Will order some for my game as well as maybe finally finding some proper replacement balls for my Bally Spinner EM arcade game.
Quoted from PACMAN:Cabinet scanned. Next step is to stitch scans in photoshop then redraw lines in illustrator tomato stencils.
"Tomato" ha ha, thanks iPhone.
No way to edit because of this lame feature. 24 hours....
Quoted from PACMAN:Thanks for sticking around Lloyd!
Thank you for such an awesome restoration. Dear to my heart. My Father's arcade had one of these.
LTG : )
Quoted from PACMAN:Zero interest in this build I see Oh well.
Except LTG - Thanks for sticking around Lloyd!
I think a lot of us are just lurking even if we haven't favorited the thread. Great work. Raises the bar pretty high. Making the rest of us feel like amateurs!
