I may be having the backglass reproduced by Stephen at BGResto in the next few months.
The one I have is not missing any paint and is completely scannable, but needed to have the "game over" section redone due to heat damage. If I have this completed, you can then contact Stephen and have another made for your game.
Good job on the playfield clear coat, if I run into another Joust in the future, I will be doing the same thing as an extra project, as the game is I have is already solid.
Keep flipping,

thanks. let me know about back glass
Quoted from tatman9999:what would cause the coil to to be stuck on(reset coil) and the number reel to keep running?
Did you ever get this sorted out? Mine isn't back together yet, but I got it with this issue. For me, two of the score reels would not go back to zero. Manually cycling them to zero allowed a game to start. At the start of the next game, the reset motor would spin over and over. Same issue. When I had the head apart I took out each reel and took the mech apart and cleaned off all the dusk/debris in there.
You got yours in much better shape than I did. The cab paint was lifted and flaking off and the PF paint was turning to powder. Mine is behind other projects now, but all I have left is to get an overlay printed (striking out locally, but have a lead online) and apply and clear that. Put the top side back on and go from there.
I took this game over about 6 months ago and just finished it this week
Joust has found its permanent home for generations to come
I had the new Backglass made
Finished the back panel on the head and installed
i had a friend of mine clean and adjust all of the switches, replace most of the coils, all of the light sockets in the playfield, clean all of the sockets in the head, replace all of the messed up scoring reals, and rewire a bunch of things
tatman9999 - Wow! BEAUTIFUL!!! Can I ask what kind of clear coat you did? I’m working on a new overlay for my Flash Gordon pinball machine, and I’m interested in clear coating it the same as yours. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, just wondering how the restored glass came out. There are so many colors on this game that it seems near impossible to do it manually!
