Finally got around to processing a video I took of my Jim McCune restored Monster Bash. I love this pin! Jim did an amazing job, as expected. Thanks also to Chris Hutchins at HEP for fixing and re-clearing the repro playfield.

Be sure to watch in 1080p quality for best results.

My wife: "What's the point of this video?"

Me: "He's showing off his restored Monster Bash."

Wife: "Oh, it's pinball porn?"

Wow! Looks amazing!

They need to put an age restriction on that video.

Gorgeous MB! Congrats. I noticed the hole cut out of the apron front with an additional LED, like an AC/DC prem/LE has. Nice. Done to both sides or just the right?

I was wondering who would be the first to mention that!

When I sent my MB to McCune to be restored, I had added two spotlights on top of the slingshot plastics in order to brighten up the middle of the playfield. MB is definitely one of the darker pins from the 90's, partly due to the fact that there is only one bulb under each slingshot plastic because of the optos for the phantom flippers.

The appearance of the spotlights on top of the slingshots doesn't look stock obviously, and it isn't a very clean look. So McCune came up with the idea of adding a couple of spot lights in the apron, similar to AC/DC and Metallica. I loved the idea and told him to do it.

I think it came out great, as the middle of the playfield is a lot brighter, but I don't have the spot lights on top of the slingshot plastics. Great implementation.

It's a beautiful thing.

Awesome work McCune!

Great details on the finished backbox front edges, the chromed Power Interface box, and basically everything else.

Cool vid to boot.

Nice idea, and yes the lower middle of the MB playfield is dark. Enjoy!

It looks NIB. Hoping to get mine up to that standard - well probably not end up quite as good. It's really nice because it looks just like it came from factory.

How does it play now?

#23 5 years ago

Nice, love the chrome inside. I am taking mine a little Chrome Crazy inside but seeing yours gets me excited about were mine is going. Very Nice!

Love all the comments ! Thanks everyone . This game was a pleasure to build for Rob, he was genuinely excited about every small step of this restoration and was a great cheerleader to keep me focused on getting it done.

Thank you Rob for taking such nice HD video of this game, it really shows the details .

A shout out to HEP for helping us with the PF and many other ideas that I mooch from Chris, Thanks Chris !

Here is a bunch of pictures that I shared with Rob as the process was done, not the best organization but I make it work .

Next gen decals are UV resistant ! I still would not want it in the sun light .
