I think that it might be fun to dedicate a thread to some dramatic "before & after" restoration photos. My apologies in advance for overlapping or replicating prior threads.

The idea here is to post your favorite restoration.

Mine is the trashed 1950 Gottlieb Spot Bowler, shown here. The restoration was arduous, both mechanically and cosmetically. I'm proud to report that it's now in the Pacific Pinball Museum.

Nice work on Spot Bowler.

I had started one here. Perhaps it will suit your needs:
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/resto-worst-of-the-worsts

(there may be another one that has more activity that popped up in the last few years) perhaps someone else can link it.

I’m a sucker for the dramatic before and after shots! Here are a few of the Rocket and Mata Hari I did.
I did a Gold Wings but I’m not sure if I wanna show off that title. Lol

I don't have a whole game to show off....only a playfield that my wife and I repainted. The original one from the game is the torn up one. The repainted one wasn't quite as bad off, but it wasn't awesome either.

No stencils.

I took a perspective corrected pictures of a Touchdown off the internet and projected it on the side of the machine and masked it off using tape and a straight edge.

Thread here: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/bobby-orrs-power-play-from-scrapper-to-power-player

Basically tried to get as little new parts as possible. Replaced the side rails, coin door skin, pop bumpers, legs - most everything else is restored, metal parts with EvapoRust + buffing, playfield painted and clearcoated, etc.

Thanks- If going to try it, my suggestions.

1) Hook a laptop to the projector so you can alter/perspective correct the image in real time.

2) key the image location off the cabinets leg mounting holes, flipper buttons and side rails.

3) Use a steel rule or yardstick to make sure straight lines are actually straight.

4) Find the best image you can of the pin that is square to the camera as possible. Less chance of perspective errors. Use a ruler to make sure points are all even.

Very impressive (and hot) restoration. The game's cabinet went from sporting flame graphics to enduring real flames in a house fire and ultimately a fresh flaming repaint.
