I did the exact same thing, center bulb was grounding and causing problems all over the playfield.
Really like the blue accents you've brought onto the playfield. referencing your pic on page 1 with all the blue tape around the playfield...I wonder if blue rubber bands would look great or be out of place.

Mof said he pm'd you so i'm sure you are good, but it is a mini post to hold rubber out of way of the pop bumper ring.
