If this turns out half as nice as your EBD, it will be beautiful again. I had to replace the top of one of my EBD restorations, the piece that the head support sits on. Luckily I live close to a wood workers shop that duplicated the top panel for me. I'm still in the process of replacing, waiting for weather to get nice so I can paint.

Great work! Do yourself a favor and clean the contacts in the 555 lamp sockets. I do it with a burnishing to but you can use other methods. It will reduce the possibility of flaky lamps.

Good idea. The diamond file may be a little harsh on the contacts though. You just want to remove any oxidation. One time I ran mine in a tumbler but it was a pain in the next to remove the media from the sockets.

Quoted from F-2NIRO:

i never have any problem with this kind of diamond file, i use it since a long time, it's not like the gold switch on the matrix.
i imagine yhe media thumbler to remove, like hell

No, I use a fine walnut shell. But yes, not like gold on the switches. I didn't about the diamond file, will have to look for one.
