Quoted from Rdoyle1978:

What does it use The camera for?

Visual tracking. The camera is required for all VR games.

I'm looking forward to the sequel to "The Last of Us," which is rumored to be VR-compatible (makes perfect sense).

FYI-
PS4 VR bundles should be back in stock at normal prices ($499) in the next few days. The bundle is the way to go if you're thinking of hopping on the Sony VR wagon.

Quoted from Asylum:

Does Xbox one have VR in the works?

Yes. Scorpio (the new Xbox) will offer more processing power than PS4 Pro (4.2 teraflops vs. 6 teraflops). Coming Q4 '17.

Quoted from delt31:

Xbox doesn't have VR in the works though....at least no public announcement

Details are vague, but Scorpio has been designed to support VR.

In all honesty, the PS4 Pro benefits are minimal, especially if you don't own a 4K TV. I'm bummed it doesn't include an UltraHD Blu-ray drive like Xbox.

There aren't that many current games that utilize the PS4 Pro's capabilities. You will get slightly better performance with VR games, but the PS4 itself is still an awesome machine. The Pro is just a little "crisper" in terms of resolution and rendering. As it stands now, there aren't many titles taking advantage of the Pro. At the end of the day, It's up to the developer to decide whether they make their new or existing games 4K-capable. They still have yet to unleash the full power of the Pro.

I tend to compare the PS4 Pro to the Sega 32X upgrade, whereas the Xbox Scorpio will practically be a new-gen console.

Farpoint is coming in May with the new Aim gun. It's a must-have.
