Hi, i have a Rescue 911. I have continuity with the wires at the chopper. When i play the magnet doesnt always pick the ball up. It does sometimes, but it wont drop it when the right flipper is pressed. When i run a test it states the rear kicker opto isnt working correctly. But i have brand new optos at that rear upkick. I also notice a loud humming sound , especially when i turn the game on. I dont know if thats normal?
Anyway im stumped. The rear upkick fires randomly sometimes too.

Go over those optos again and make sure they are adjusted properly.Unadjusted optos cause random activation from vibration while playing a game.
Now for the humming sound try and tighten those screws hold the sound board in place in the backbox.Let”s see if that corrects the issue..post back your results

Hi pinmike, i tightened the screws on the soundboard, and they were loose, but no dice. The humming is very loud when you first turn it on, but during gameplay its not noticeable. Its weird the opto kicked in attract mode once. When i start a game it worked fine, the rear upkick worked great. Still the magnet is not dropping the ball when right flipper is pressed.

Ok let’s try this..on that flipper that drops the ball lift up the playfield and do some cleaning on the EOS switch or opto on small flipper board that activities that flipper with a dry rag.Do Not spray or use chemicals just dry. Also, power off the game and reseat the connector on the opto board.it should be located under the playfield.

For the sound...power off try reseating the connectors on the sound board,Then VERY GENTLY push in those sound roms..remember very gently.

Note.Im not sure if this game has a small flipper board with an opto in the right flipper area in the cabinet.let me know if it does or doesn’t have one

This just came to mind are those balls very old or new?Sometimes old balls will become demagnetized over time. Also, clean the magnet that picks up the ball..just use a dry rag and clean the magnet on the helicopter

Hi PinMike, The board is under the right flipper. I wiped down and cleaned the magnet but im still having problems. The magnet only works sometimes. The first time i flipped to the ramp, the heli would not even pickup the ball. The second time on another mission it picked up and held the ball fine, but when i released the right flipper to let the ball go, no work!

Follow ground wire link to the magnet and also the one link to the right flipper and check any solders link to those grounds wires.
Did you made the ground upgrade as show here ?:
