I'm working on a Gottlieb Rescue 911 and have an issue with the spinning beacon. If you look at the up close pic attached, you will see the gear attached to the end of the motor rod is worn down and no longer has traction. Even with a new rubber gasket installed, it will not spin the assembly. Is there a reliable fix for this without replacing the motor?

Thx,

Not that I'm aware of. It's not really a replaceable part, either. You could try scoring it with a dremmel tool if you have a pointy cone bit, but I probably wouldn't waste my time because of the worn area and since a new beacon isn't too expensive.

Look for a Peterson 771R or Wolo 3110-R. It's basically the same beacon, but with a car charger adapter instead of the mini fit jr connector.

Right on! Thanks for that. I think for $20 it's a no brainer. Not sure if the other is even fixable!

Wonder how many hours of use it took to wear down that much?

Kind of wish newer pins had coin counters not just in the menu. You can change boards and lose the amount of plays.

Those knurled rollers wore down even when we were operating the games years ago.

I think this one was really bad because it ran against the plastic for a long time once the rubber gasket had broken off, but I may be wrong.

New beacon received today and except for the fact that I had to change the power connector, it's an EXACT replacement of the original!

Looks even better with a Red LED installed!

Thanks again for the info!
