With so many Classic Stern standard-body parts being reproduced, we are pleased to announce that you now have an option to purchase a NEW reproduction pinball cabinet to house your classic Stern scratch-built game. This cabinet looks exactly like an original Stern cabinet from the outside, but is constructed using modern joinery on the inside which makes it a snap to assemble with nothing more than a tension strap and phillips screwdriver. You can purchase assembled by us, or flat-pack style where you can assemble the cabinet in a few hours.

Please visit our website www.EZPinball.com for more details.

You can also email us directly [email protected] with any questions you have.

From the site:

The EZ Pinball Pincab is available both flat packed ($795) and pre-assembled ($1,295).

Looking good for the guys wanting to build new games or restoring their old ones. Even the local guys here might try a group buy of the flat packs. Since the Seawitch & Star Gazer plastics, glass, & playfields are made here. Buy the other parts from the USA.

Cabinets are shipping now. During the process of preparing the pallet and getting shipping quotes from several interested buyers I have determined that:

1) You can ship up to FIVE (5) EZPinball cabinets on the same pallet for almost identical shipping price. So if you want to pool a few local collectors and make a group buy, everyone saves. Saves me time by only making one pallet, saves YOU money (BIG Money) since you can offset the shipping cost per cabinet across multiple cabinets.

2) Every shipment still needs an individual quote, but it seems like I can ship the pallet of cabinets (1 to 5 cabinets) for around a maximum of $250 per shipment in the continental USA. This is not a guarantee, but at least now you have a ballpark figure to work with shipping wise. I presume remote rural locations may cost more, and local destinations closer to California would cost less. Our shipping specialist can also arrange for International shipments as well.

I'm going to be updating the website shortly to incorporate these details as well.

Thanks to everyone for their input and suggestions. I want to earn your business and reputation as the go-to company for reproduction pinball cabinets. It is my plan to begin reproducing Classic Bally cabinets in the upcoming months, but feel free to reach out if you would like another cabinet reproduced. If I get enough interest, I will consider reproducing any pinball cabinet using the EZ system for flat-pack shipment and ease of assembly for you.

John, greatwichjohn thanks for the unsolicited offer. Cabinets are currently in stock and ready to ship anytime up to July 1st.

My family and I will be doing a domestic "All American" vacation visiting Mount Rushmore, Jackson Hole, Yellowstone, Cody WY, and Southern Montana.

I will be keeping an eye on the [email protected] mailbox while we are away. We look forward to providing you with a Premium Reproduction Classic Stern cabinet!

Stay Tuned!! We are planning to attend several pinball shows this fall and look forward to meeting you in person!

Thanks to everyone who has been so supportive of this new endeavor. We welcome your input and feedback to provide you with the best product possible!

Same. This could really help in making a Star Gazer scratch build. The harness will still be an issue.

Good point. Lockdown bars are basically unobtainable. I need one for my Quicksilver.

yeah biggest thing stopping me from using this product. Still need a complete-ish donor game too. But the cabinets are awesome and make a restore way easier.

I have the "prototype" cabinet that was built to make the blueprints for the EZPinball cabinet. I am working on trying to get one of the EZPinball cabinets at the moment but I am not sure when exactly that will happen. The cabinet that I have right now is a copy of the Meteor cabinet that is also in the pictures as well as another similar Stern head that I had laying around for comparison.
Obviously this one is the "prototype" and technically not an EZPinball cabinet but I was impressed when I started fitting the Meteor parts to the new cabinet since what I have is essentially a mock up to "proof" it and basically all I had to do was put them side by side and transfer measurements over to test fit parts.
If/when I get a newer version cabinet I can report back here.

I want to clarify that 20eyes cabinet was the 1st "prototype" Reproduction Classic Stern cabinet, where I was trying to exactly duplicate the original. My goal is to flat-pack cabinets for cost savings yet allowing the end user to easily assemble the cabinet in their garage or basement with minimal tools and woodworking skills. The one 20eyes has would not flat-pack or assemble easily so I set about making a new cabinet design that looks identical to the Classic Stern on the outside but uses modern joinery and assembly techniques on the inside. Please see the latest EZPinball cabinet design on our website www.ezpinball.com

The palm plate / lockdown bar issue. I purposefully did not make any CNC routings in this area because I felt it was likely that the Bally palm plate / lockdown bar could be substituted in lieu of the original Stern piece. I have also heard that Data East hardware is similar. This cabinet is a blank slate for the homebrew folks to find new solutions without boundaries. I think the Bally style of this era is similar enough that it would work quite well in lieu of the original Stern palm plate / lockdown assembly.

The EZPinball cabinet is currently set up to accommodate the OEM Stern coin door. It would take almost no effort at all to revise the door opening to potentially use a Bally door, or a Happ door, or any common door available. Did you know that a Bally door will plug in exactly wire-for-wire to a Stern Harness? Food for thought. I am pretty flexible and open to any and all suggestions. I feel this cabinet is a fresh approach to reproduction pinball cabinets for the hobbiest / restorer so I'm all ears! Let me know what you'd like so see in a reproduction Classic Stern Cabinet and let's work together!

I've even approached Third Coast in seeing if they could make a Bally to Stern conversion harness where you take a late-model Bally transformer/rectifier board (the lower cabinet mounted style) and have it power a Classic Stern such as QS or SG.
Your Thoughts??

EZPinball will be at Pin-A-Go-Go in Dixon, CA this weekend! We will have cabinets both Flat-Pack and assembled for you to take home!

We will also have light insert panels available for Seawitch and Star Gazer.

Stop by our booth and say HI!

#28 1 year ago

Northern California folks.... If you want to save on shipping these cabinets, contact The Flipper Room. We will be distributing EZPinball cabinets up in the Bay Area. We can sell you assembled cabinets (or flat pack if you really want) with NO shipping cost added! We will soon even offer stenciling. You would just have to drop ship your stencil of choice from Pinball Pimp to The Flipper Room.

#29 1 year ago

We are very excited to be able to partner with The Flipper Room to provide local distribution to the Bay Area and also provide painted cabinets if desired.

EZPinball will also provide assembly assistance (if you purchase Flat-Pack) regardless of which location you pick up your EZStern cabinet!

I will be hosting a booth space at the Pintastic Show to promote the product. In the past I was trying to move forward with Classic Stern new builds, & it is finally moving forward later this year after the show. John will be at TPF Show, doing on site sales & promotion there.

Things are moving along with the show. I paid for the booth space & you should be able to prepay your flat pack & pick it up at my booth in June.

The show promoters were excited to know of the bulk shipment option when they visitied my booth at TPF. Thanks to John Greatwitch and the folks at Pintastic for promoting EZPinball!!

Unfortunately I and EZPinball will not be able to attend Pintastic in person, but John G. has graciously agreed to allow me to have a bulk shipment of cabinets sent to Pintastic for pick-up at the show in his booth. This should reduce the freight cost significantly per cabinet. Please email me EZPinball @ gmail.com directly and mention that you want your cabinet delivered to Pintastic and I will see your order is added to the bulk shipment. Once we have everyone's order in place I can determine a shipping price per cabinet.

May 6th is the cut-off date for pre-orders to be shipped in bulk to Pintastic. Thanks!

The website doesn't have pricing at the moment...what kind of costs are involved? I have a spare populated Meteor playfield that is just staring at me...and once I get that under my belt, I'd like to clone my Nine Ball...

Is EZPinball going to be at Golden State Pinball Festival in May?

Yes, EZPinball has secured a booth at Golden State Pinball Festival.

Please contact me directly for pre-sale and free shipping to the show.

We also have back in stock both Star Gazer and Quicksilver light insert panels.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at GSPF!!

With plywood, fuel, and labor costs swinging skyward, it has been challenging to keep prices consistent. To avoid confusion I have removed pricing from the website so that customers contact me directly for timely pricing.

Please always feel free to send me an email ezpinball @ gmail.com for current pricing. Your quoted price will be honored for 30 days.

For everyone in central to eastern USA, now is the time to book your order. I will definitely be at Pintastic to promote cabinets. At this time up until June I still do not know if I have transportation for my skid back to Canada. So I will still build your cabinet at the show for free at the booth, but there needs to be a group of buyers to commit in April for a skid to go to the show. Please reach out to John the owner for pricing details & shipping to the show.

Just checking to see if you guys are still around? Website’s not working, and interesting in buying a couple cabinets.

#45 7 months ago
Quoted from Clnilsen:

Just checking to see if you guys are still around? Website’s not working, and interesting in buying a couple cabinets.

We're still here, but at a reduced production schedule. We currently have a limited quantity of Classic Stern cabinet flat-packs in stock and ready to ship. The website states they are currently out of stock and to contact me directly. This is on purpose due to the limited production capacity at this time. Please contact me directly if you want to know current availability levels.

Quicksilver and Star Gazer reproduction light insert panels are also in stock and can be shipped USPS or UPS. I can produce Meteor on demand and have just sourced an original Stars insert panel for duplication and eventual reproduction. Drop me a line if there's a light insert panel you'd like to see reproduced for Classic Stern titles and I will do my best to accomodate you. Have an old original light insert panel lying around for a Classic Stern title we don't already offer? Please contact me about available options.
Light insert panels are currently cut from 3/4" high density MDF. The light sockets in the insert panels should be mounted with a wood screw or a professional grade stapler. A hand-held stapler produces results less than perfect and requires a hammer, center punch, and patience!

Please do not hesitate to check out EZPinball.com or reach me directly EZPinball @ gmail . com with any questions, quotes, inquiries or if you just want to talk pinball.

Thanks everyone for all of their support and interest in EZPinball. We look forward to earning your business.

John
