Depends on how bad they are to start with. Polishing compound on a cloth wheel attached to a hand drill or drill press works pretty well - quicker than wet sanding if you have a bunch of them to do. For other pinball parts, I usually start with Mother's metal polish and steel wool, wipe it clean, then finish on a cloth wheel on my drill press. Works well for me.
