These are so cool. https://newwavetoys.com They are making 12 inch versions of centipede and tempest. Wood cabs, and they are direct ports from arcade rather than Atari home console ports. $169, but are 10% off this week. Gameplay and sounds seem dead on.

Snagged one. Thanks.

Todd Tuckey plays around with one of these on his latest youtube video. Looks pretty cool.

Pretty cool, But for a couple hundred more you could have the full size arcade.

Quoted from Brtlkat:

But if you live in a 250 square foot apartment, this size is ideal.

It's one of the nicest desktop pieces out there. I snagged one at $144 shipped with that coupon last week. It's expensive, but the thing is so damn nice I couldn't resist.

That’s a great picture! It looks full size next to those pins.

I’m anxious to see the Street Fighter cabinet.

Now if they could just fully replicate some arcade pinball machines like this we would be in business. If they do a Robotron I am in!

It really is beautiful, well worth it.
Plays and looks like the real thing.
My mini arcade has officially begun!

Loving mine. The trackball is smooth and plays surprisingly well.
As Ferris says... If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up.

Fiancé just got me one for spending 5 crazy years with me. Definitely better than expected. I want Moon Patrol, Joust, and Street Fighter II next.

Tempting tempest... but yeah; I'm going to wait for a real review as I'm concerned about the spinner..

I have Dragons Lair on my RasberryJAMMA in the gameroom - but I do love the original (mini) design of the New Wave cab. Also love the independent scoring displays like the arcade version. Jeese - I spent SO much money on Dragons Lair when that came out in the arcade; Don Bluth should just gift me one

I have the Tempest mini cab. It pretty damn cool, but the spinner does suck (clickety-click). I think they did the best the could without a weighted spinner.

Dragons lair was the first game to charge .50 cents and there was always a line up to play. Spent many allowances on this game.
This one will have HDMI output !

I have a question for any fellow Centipede owners. A couple of months ago I was lucky to find one of these new at my local Best Buy. After trying to play it from time to time since then and always discovering the battery had died, I did some searching online to discover a firmware upgrade fixed a phantom battery leak issue. (It needs a special cable to install from your PC which New Wave Toys ships for free.)

So I fully charged the unit, then installed the firmware. (Curiously it failed at first. Then I tried again and it showed a success.) By the next day, my battery was showing half charged after no play. On day two it was showing no charge, but I could still power it on and from there I played two games. After three days, it shut down in the middle of booting up since it couldn't run any longer.

I've got to ask - does that seem right? I was most certainly expecting more battery life than that. I thought the firmware update went through. Is there any way to be sure?
