Quoted from ninjadoug:Pinburgh has sold out every year for the past 7 years. Quicker and quicker every year.
I hear that next year is already sold out!

Quoted from michi:It wasn't obvious whether or not there are reserved tickets, say for previous years' winners.
The tournament info also doesn't say if there are spots reserved for Martians. #wheresthetransparency
Quoted from michi:When an event is as popular as Pinburgh, with over 400 people missing out, it doesn't hurt to be explicit.
It's an impossible task to list the things you're not doing. Not possible. That's what I'm saying. Just because you think it's obvious that of course they need to say they're not reserving spots doesn't make it true that it's obvious.
Quoted from michi:I agree. It's possible to list what you are doing though: "All tickets are sold on a first-come first-served basis."
They auctioned one spot on eBay for charity. See how hard this is?
Quoted from UppedSiren8:Dang so I want to go to some big tournament this year so I thought "Hey the PAPA tournament sounds cool." realizing it's probably not even happening.
So then I remembered Pinburgh and thought that would be cool too. Then I read this forum then realized I was way too late. This sucks.
You're in luck: There has never been a time when there were more big and awesome pinball tournaments than there are now.
Quoted from misterschu:Is there cheaper parking near the Convention than parking at the DLCC on-site garage?
Quoted from Eightball88:Exactly, that what I want to avoid...showing up on Thursday morning only to find out they are calling names further down the list. We are so close it would be a shame not to get in at this point. Regardless, we are looking forward to our first replay/pinburgh!
This info was in Wednesday's "Pinburgh 2018 - Important Information" email that got sent to all players (and waitlist people?):
All spots in the tournament that open due to no-shows will be filled in order of the waitlist. If you are on the waitlist and are hoping to fill a no-show spot, please let someone at the Pinburgh desk know that is your intent PRIOR to 9:30am on Thursday morning. Also, please note that the Pinburgh desk is different from the merchandise / information desk and is located inside Replay FX, in the Pinburgh area inside Hall C. At exactly 9:31am, we will proceed down the list of players who are on the waitlist AND WHO HAVE NOTIFIED US IN PERSON PRIOR TO 9:30am THEY ARE AVAILABLE AND WOULD LIKE TO PARTICIPATE in order to fill the remaining openings in the tournament.
Quoted from Capinball:This just reminded me that I never submitted a claim for prize money for my son. Can someone please send me the info I need to do this because I can't find the paper I grabbed at Pinburgh. Thanks in advance.
