Maybe it's just me, but I don't think anyone should be guaranteed a slot. I don't care if you still haven't drained the first ball you ever plunged.
The beauty of the event, for me at least, is how it's a completely level playing field when round one starts. I honestly don't think Keith Elwin or whoever 'deserves' a ticket anymore than a grandma from Buffalo or Joe Six pack.

Two tickets were sold early as a promotional incentive. These people are putting a TON of time, money, and effort into making Pinburgh happen every year. If you don't like the way they do it- tough. Go play somewhere else.

There might have been others, but I know there was at least one the night before (Thursday). I can't remember the name of the place but it was where you pre-registered.
