    what do you do if you want to replate the "yellow" metal (bronze? brass?) on these old machines? If I scrub it too hard with copper cleaner, the yellow smears a bit, is it a lacquer?

    I know the silver parts can be re-done with a home nickel-plating kit

    attached are some pics of a Ice Revue and a Domino. I've circled the brackets and parts, they are common to just about every EM it seems.

    I don't mean the part itself, but they all have a plating or coating. It would be nice to be able to restore it when cleaning and repairing the machine.

    Interesting, I did not know that Zinc can be a yellow finish. And zinc plating has (relatively) easy home kits. I am thinking I might give it a try!
