These available to order?

#52 9 years ago

I should have time to make these in a few months when things are back under control. Right now I can't even get to my table saw to cut the acrylic.

Someone please bump this thread around June to remind me. I would make and ship them for my cost.

Quoted from mattosborn:

They are a bit harder to find, but 1:50 scale model cars fit perfectly:

Did you use black Lexan under yours? I like the look of this.

Yes, it is black plastic. Not Lexan though... It's laser cut Acrylic (you unfortunately can't cut Lexan with a laser). It's pretty thick, so it's fairly tough. It has held up well... better than I was expecting. I was afraid it would crack or chip, but it hasn't. Just a little denting, which you wouldn't notice unless you looked up close. If/when I make another, I'll probably just go with the thickest black Acrylic that my laser guy has (and still have room to fit the car in!). The black is very stealthy, and I don't extend out very far past the car (just enough to protect it), so it looks/behaves just like the original bash car. Actually, I think it registers hits better than the original.

I did this to my game using lexan and 2 clear plastic washers underneth. Turned out great thanks to Swapfire's idea.

Recently picked up a Nascar pin and the car is trashed, the wife and I were at Menards and they had a bin full of diecast cars and trucks for $2.99 I found some Nascar race cars that are the exact same size as the test car X. There is no where on the box that says the scale but someone in this thred said that 1/50 is the closest scale to the one that comes in the game. I bought one and plan on picking up a few more, they look like a pretty good quality except I didnt see any fan favorites.

Welcome. That's cool I'll have to look next time I'm there. But metal might be to heavy.

I'll keep an eye out for this size car at the flea market and try it out.

I started rebuilding my garage mech and was wondering if there is any specific reason that the car bracket is mounted to the rear a bit whitch causes it to get in the way of the pop bumper cap (that they just sawed off) makes it look like an after thought. While I mount my new car with a piece of black acrylic plastic I am going to weld (fill in) the bracket holes and re-drill them so it will move the bracket forward slightly so I can install a new non cut pop bumper cap with some Led light rings.

Ha! In my recent parts order I bought a new bumper cap because I thought my was broken.

I thought someone sawed mine off because the garage was catching it, had to look up picks online and there all like that. Looks like shit to me

Hi Guys, new owner of a Grand Prix! Mine is unfortunately is in very poor shape; the previous owner said he thought it was used as a parts machine. Seller also included a CPU board and 2 Driver boards since those were all gone when he got it - all of which need work. Fortunately looks like all the game specific items are there minus the translite.
