Mario Andretti needs a new power cord. How is the old one removed?
Thanks in advance
Thanks for that vid, but I need to remove the entire cord and there is some kind of plastic piece it runs through that I cannot remove the cord from.
That is a "strain relief".
Grab it with a pair of Channel-Locks at the 9 and 2 oclock positions.
The 2 oclock section will move inwards, allowing you to pull the cord and strain relief free.
Quoted from trufflepiggy:There is a black plastic piece trapping the cord.
Reuse it so the new cord doesn't get cut on the metal edges.

If you replace cords often enough -- Heyco makes an awesome tool for removing and installing these power cord strain reliefs. We use their #0022s quite often. Sometimes you can find them on ebay dirt cheap.
