I know there are kits to do this, but my brother is a complete audiophile and had these car speakers extra. They are 4 ohm, and the Met speakers are 8 ohm...but I think wired in parallel. Will these work? I’m not too shy about doing stuff to my machines, but I have a couple concerns about these particular speakers working with Mets sound system/amp. I don’t want to wire these wrong and hurt the sound system. Any help would be appreciated.

You will need to check the wiring. If they are truely parallel two times 4 Ohm parallel will make 2 ohm which can blow-damage the sound amplifier. If they are in series you are fine even if it is now 8 ohm compared with 16 Ohm earlier.

Not sure if this helps. Red and white wires coming from the audio board are soldered to the positive of the left speaker. Red and black wires from the audio board are soldered to the positive of the right. Red and orange goes from the negative terminal on the left speaker to a capacitor...a red wire then goes from the other leg of the capacitor to the negative terminal of the right speaker. Ignore the grey wire, that’s leds to the speakers.

Checked the manual and according to the manual they are in series so no problem in swapping the 8 ohm with 4 ohm speakers.

Great! Looking at my pics...are my speakers wired correctly. The manual says the Red-Blk should be connected to the negative terminal, but mine is connected to the positive. Since it seems to work fine, would you just swap the speakers exactly how they are already wired...which seems incorrect according to the manual.

From my understanding, the crew at Stern wired it wrong, reversing the polarity. I should wire them according to the manual to correct the polarity.
