I'm starting to go through some of the E M's I've had for 40 plus yrs and bringing them back to their glory. I'm missing a Target Alpha schematic. Some of the schematics I have for other machines are rather crusty - dried, cracked, taped, stained, etc. I see originals frequently on eBay. There is currently one for T/A now and most vendors sell copies for a modest price. My question: Is it better to find an original or are the copies on new paper of good quality and clarity?

Ok, thanks. It's reassuring to know replacements are legible and adequate for troubleshooting. Copying originals and using for service work is an idea I didn't think of and appreciate.

I certainly smeared a few over the years... And fragile is a good word to describe some of mine. In the day kept them all with the machines and a 'hot box' probably was not the best environment for paper. Pulled one out of a Big Indian. Was brittle and curled. Didn't feel comfortable opening until I put it in a high humidity environment for a few hours.
