I have a Stern MPU-200 that has developed boot issues. Getting one flash which seems to point to the 6810 RAM chip. Removed and reseated the chip a couple of times while testing for successful boot on the bench, but no change. Stole a 6810 chip from another board and installed it, and the MPU-200 booted right up.

I'd like to replace the 6810 chip I borrowed. Checked the normal US sources and didn't seem to see any for sale. I did find them for sale at AliExpress (link at end of post).

Is there a better place to pick up a 6810 chip? Is there something else I can replace the 6810 chip with on the MPU-200 board?

Thanks!. I see arcadechips.com carries a 1Mhz and a 2 Mhz version of this chip. Would either one of them work in early Stern SS games?

Also, does anyone know if there is something else I can replace the 6810 chip with on the MPU-200 board? lt would be nice to know if there is a substitute or not. I saw that with some of the sound boards one can swap out the CPU chip for one with some onboard RAM, and then with a jumper change it isn't necessary to use a 6810 chip at all. Anything like that on the MPU-200 board?

Either works the mpu200 runs at about 900 Hz. Avoid AMI brand if you can they are not as robust.

I'm sure with some hacky jumper wires you can add a 6802 which has onboard ram, but there's no need to do that.....
