I asked this question in the Meteor club thread but haven't gotten a response, maybe I'll have better luck here.

I'm looking for replacement pop/dead bumper switches and spoons for my Meteor. I read that by enlarging the mounting holes I can use a Williams spoon. I have those and it looks like they will work fine but I'd also like to replace the switches. Can I use the Williams switch as well? If not could someone point me towards a part that work? I've searched and searched and can't find info. I bought the parts manual but of course not all the part numbers supercede.

I've ordered a lot of incorrect parts, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could you post a picture of your Meteor switch ? People might be able to guide you if they don't have a Stern pin of that era to check.

Thanks LTG, good point.

Is that a high power switch ( kind of direct drive like a flipper EOS ) ? If so a low power Williams switch won't work.

If it's low power like Williams DMD era pop bumpers, then a Williams switch will work fine.

I ask because in your picture the contacts look a little burned like high power.

I'm not sure. I'll have to investigate!

Those are low power switches, as they run through the "switch matrix". They're not the direct switches.

You don't need to replace the switch, unless something is very wrong with it. Just clean up the contacts.

You'll need to replace the spoons. The holes on the new spoons will need to be enlarged to fit the switch stack. I use a step bit in the drill press, and slowly press the spoon base into the bit.

Pic number two tells me the switch has been hacked. Stern didn’t use wood screws like that to mount a switch.
It looks like someone has put a high power switch, like a flipper switch, in place of a low power gold plated switch.
What do the others look like?

Those aren’t wood screws. If you look at the tip of the screw, you’ll see that it’s flat, not pointed.

These screws go into tinman nuts on the underside, that you can’t see.

The screws shown are most likely factory.

Thanks for the responses. I guess I'll just clean them and replace the spoons. The screws are original and match my Meteor parts machine. I'll take pictures of the other switches. Enlarging the holes in the spoons looks pretty straight forward.

Thanks. I'm going to try the first one. I saw those before but wasn't sure if they were for newer Stern machines or not.
