Quoted from Chuck_Sherman:

Not at that price, I think most of us are waiting for the SS conversion. I made myself 75 horseshoes for less then $10 in about an hour.

If you think $2.50 each (plus post) is too much try having the 2 x dies made to stamp them, then paying for staff to stamp them and rivet the silver contacts on. Pfft - wake up to reality sir!

As it stands I am still out of pocket around $3000 with this project and I often wonder why I bother to try and help when "some" have attitudes like yours! I don't even own a machine these are used in so it's not like I even had a use for them myself.

I wonder if the OP is thinking along the same lines? He has obviously done a lot of work and will anyone appreciate that when he says "$30 each" - probably not....

Sorry to upset you, 86418-i.jpg

You haven't upset me at all - Americans simply have no idea of how Australians talk. We say it exactly how we see it, it doesn't mean we are upset - we just say it - NON PC and all!! LOL.

You have done an excellent job with those. Maybe you should have offered them to others and saved me the expense and bother of making them?

What are you using for contacts?

Quoted from Chuck_Sherman:

The biggest problem with the horseshoes is they were made for the 00-90 match units and score wheels . When Williams went solidstate, they re-purposed
leftover old stock. Horrible design for drop targets, worked good for original purpose.

....and it gets worse....when they decided to use them for SS drop targets they chose to bend them the other way and put the contacts on the other side so the original EM ones can't even be used in SS machines as they are "arse-about".

Are you bringing any to Pinfest?

Can do if I know you would like some - let me know.

Quoted from Schwaggs:

This thread was about a solution to eliminate the boards and horseshoe contacts all together. A retrofit for games that had this type of drop target to improve reliability of the targets dropping and registering. Nothing commercially exists to perform this retrofit, to my knowledge.
The boards you linked at Marco are replacement boards for the existing design. They make connections easier by including the switch matrix diodes on the board itself, instead of hanging off the contact points at the bottom of the board.

Fantastic idea and, as is often the case, the simplest way can easily be the BEST way!

We will make a system inspired by your efforts straight away.
