I've long given up board work myself, so I also tend to replace them for the same reliability/longevity reasons cited.
I did have a related question...for boards that are being replaced, is there a market for the old boards - either as trade-in on new boards or as a core purchase? Acid damage aside, many times the boards are functional except for certain components.
