We had one pinball expo in Sydney Australia. It was outstanding and we loved it! Hopefully more to come or we will have to organise a trip to the USA.

    #6 7 years ago

Was surprised to see that as well. Sure seems strange.

Someone found the empty cabinets at the hotel's lost and found, so they're getting dragged out again.

This is the year to go!

    #10 7 years ago
    Quoted from Shapeshifter:

This is the year to go!

Sure it is. Two years ago it was supposedly great, I had to miss it. Last year was going to be better, it had a poor amount of working machines, but the rest of the event was pretty good.

This year it is being over-hyped so the jury's out. I reserved a room awhile ago but may skip it this year.

I'm not offering to help improve Expo as that sounds like work. I'm a cash paying customer and choose not to haul machines for $30/day cash or payment in kind. I've been a cash paying customer for many years. Even paid the ridiculous "seminar" badge fee when I was unable to stay for several days so I did not buy the full package on three occasions. Watched many enter the room with only a hall wrist band. Theft of services be damned.

Thought about bringing a machine or two from Detroit but heard too many horror stories how the paymaster was nowhere to be found at payment time.

My apologies for misunderstanding your comment, I thought you had some helpful suggestions for improving the show, which is why I suggested you call.

I coordinate the free play room now, and have for a few years. We try every year to make an improvement for peoples experiences at the show, and I hope I have made a difference for the better.

The offer still stands, feel free to call if you have feedback or want to chat. We would love to have you bring a machine, and it would be much appreciated. I realize how much work it is, let alone with such a significant drive to the show.

    Regards,

    Andrew

Can choose beds , including 2 queens.Earlier nights were still available at the expo hotel. Last year the expo hotel became available on Hotwire (in the week before expo) 4 1/2 star Northbrook zone.
