So my Austin Powers machine has 3 of these relay boards. 2 of them have been giving me trouble. I ordered a new relay to solder onto the board but it actually seemed to make it worse. I'm kind of bad at sodering so I probably screwed something up.

I then decided to order a new board on Marco. MArco says the board has been replaced with a simpler version 502-5032-01. Ordered for $30 and turns out the wire harness is completely different. It even has a different number of wires. Has anyone found a fix for this?

Here is a picture of my bad attempt at a new soldered board.

Marco doesn't seem to have a picture or a page for your new board, so it's hard to help you there. Honestly, your soldering job looks acceptable, save for those three spots in the top middle. Not easy to tell from a picture though. What symptoms are you having?

Well I went back and tested all 3 of my boards. Swaping them all out with one another to determine if the Dr. Evil relay board was actually bad. Turns out, it isn't! Looks like the motor the relay kicks on only kicks on about 75% of the time. 25% of the time it makes a buzz noise and doesnt turn. I wonder if a gear is stripped or something else is wrong... I guess I will have to take it all apart and examine.

Im still confused though on my replacement purchase. I bought this from Marco: http://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/502-5032-01

Its wire harness is nothing like the original 520-5010-00 that its supposed to replace. I guess I will have to try and get my money back on this one.

I went through this a few years ago.. Marco told me relay board 500-6700-00 was a suitable replacement for 520-5010-00. It was not. Bought it for a spare and when I needed it did not work so I had to eat the $30.00. As long as you just bought the relay hopefully you get. Your money back unless they waive it because an electrical part.

VND and Goldeneye also use 520-5010-00. Always out of stock..

Hope you get your problem resolved.

Did you get this fixed I have a relay in my swt, same part number and the motor won’t work intermittently like described.
