I'm looking for recommendations or perhaps even a 'recipe' for a complete incandescent to LED switch on a Fish Tales. I see where Marco offers a kit, but it seems like some of the cost includes the time it takes to put certain bulbs together and perhaps an instruction sheet on what goes where.

Is there another alternative?

I made my own from Comet Pinball. I would suggest that route.

Any chance we can see pics and a list of items bought. Make it easy for the rest of us. I'm almost ready to do a complete FT teardown.

Use comet pinball , best selection and best pricing, and a nice guy to boot. Fill the underside playfield with 2 or 4 smd cool whitebulbs, then mix mainly green throughout the GI, mix in a few purples and blues gives a nice feel for water and such. The boat center lights have a lot of varied colors to mix it up. Don't forget about the 6 lights in the topper and a bright yellow bulb for the eye in the fish....good luck leds in this machine really pops bigtime !

Any customizing done with that kit or is that the way it came/arrived?

That's the kit

What's neat about pbb is their kits include all the LEDs to swap, like all other kits.
But with pbb you also get added spotlights and easy to install led strips by the flippers and towards the back of the playfeild.

Agree with PDX, the PBB kit looks sweet.

PinballBulbs kits rock. Unless you're really talented and like to fiddle, the PB kits are the way to go. The custom spots and strips really make them pop. The PB LED's are also really well tested...rarely have one not light on first try!
