    Hey Guys,
Recently got a WCS94 in trade. One of the GI strings isn't working. I have narrowed it down to the board, but am unsure what the exact issue is. My guess is a triac, but the problem is, the screw that holds the triac to the heat sinc is stripped, and i can't get it loose. I am thinking about just sending it out, and having a pro look at it.

Any recommendations for someone with a quick turnaround?

Not quick, but possibly one of the best, Clive at coin op cauldron. Been doing my boards for well over 15 years.~SpOoKy

I had a great experience with K's arcade. They resurrected a severely hacked system 9 board.

I have always liked Steve Kulpa.. just google his name & pinball. He really knows his stuff & is very reasonable for price.

Steve Kulpa or John Wart Jr. are great.

I bought a rebuilt board from John Wart Jr. The repair was very well done and I was thrilled to see a 90 day warranty

John Wart and Chris Hibler, Great guys and fantastic, honest work.

All good recommendations. I'm habituated to Clive though (Coinop Cauldron)... always been superior work. Board usually comes back looking as new.

Chris Hibler fixed up a WPC driver board for me nicely (and I appreciated all of his advice along the way)

    Hibler!

I've had both K's as well as Ed Cheung (with a System 11) help me out in the past.

Thanks guys, for the positive endorsements. Much appreciated.

To the original poster, the problem is unlikely to be the TRIAC. In all they appears I've been repairing boards, I've had to replace exactly one TRIAC.

We've just added some nice debug info to the PinWiki for GI problems.
If you have a DMM, set it to continuity and go to town.

Kris @ firebird pinball is quick and does great work!

I'll agree with Chris, I've had to replace exactly 1 triac too. Not a common fault.

GI repairs I typically get to fix - 49.5% burnt connectors, 49.5% prior rework where someone didn't buzz out all the traces.
