I am in the middle of a playfield swap on a T2 and I have this part on my bench. I can’t find a spot for it. Maybe it is from some other game or the cabinet. Anybody seen this bracket before?

    Thanks
    David

That's an odd looking part. Possibly a ball deflector of some sort? I can't say that I've encountered that one before on a playfield.

I pretty much completely disassembled two T2 games and a spare playfield, and I don't recall that part on any of them.

I also don't recall seeing that part on any other games I've disassembled.

I quickly flipped through the red parts catalog and didn't see a drawing of the part jump out at me.

Maybe it's from a later WPC-95 game? With those particular bends in the metal, I don't think it really fits the style of older WPC games.

[edit]: I didn't spot it in the green or gray parts catalogs either. But, I could've overlooked it if it was part of a larger assembly.

Kinda reminds me of the stiffener piece behind most standup targets, but with an extra flappy piece for some reason.

Does it have anything to do with the flipper buttons maybe?
Do those 2 holes line up with the same spacing as most lead switches?

    Quoted from PghPinballRescue:

The ones I've seen are just narrow rectangular pieces with a single angled bend in them. Similar metal thickness, though.

I've never see it on WPC flipper button switches.

Someone else just suggested that it could possibly be modern Stern cabinet playfield alignment brackets. I haven't really seen those, so I couldn't say if that's right or not.

Thanks for all the research and the suggestions. I did ask this question on the T2 owners group with no hits either. Perhaps I just added this bracket to the tumbler accidentally and it's not a pinball part at all. I have rebuilt a WH2O and a MB so I have all the W/B era version games but maybe this is not an issue. I will throw it in the random parts bin for now.

Can we see the other side? Does it appear more pitted like from ball strikes etc?

Here’s the other side. No ball marks so probably just some part not even pinball related.
