Hi Steve,

Received your red board kit a few days ago, and built it today. All went well, and I've installed it in my ST:TNG and successfully connected to it via WiFi. I've put firmware 1.25 on it. This board is replacing a Pinsound board in the machine, so I copied over the ST:TNG Original sound set over to the Tilt board. It seems I'm running into the scrambled soundset problem:

I've seen earlier messages that indicate I should be using a mapping file, but I can't find any at the links that have been posted.

Any help or guidance you could give would be appreciated.

I'm in the same boat - I get missing sounds and background sounds that don't stop. My main machine I'm trying to get this to work in is a ST:TNG which has a PIN2DMD fitted as well. I've also tried it in my TAF with the same problem.

For those who are experiencing this, could you try and go into the Service Menu, and see what sounds you get there when using the service buttons? On mine, I get the expected correct sounds, but sometimes I get no sound. For example, if I repeatedly press the + button, I'll get the correct sound around 7 out of 10 times, but the other 3 won't play any sound at all. Those 3 might be in a row, or randomly dispersed among the presses. The Tilt audio log shows the board as misinterpreting the sound command for those errors. That leads me to think it's a timing issue on the Tilt board. The original DCS board and a Pinsound board both work fine in the machine.

If you have that problem, could you please check which 74x00 and 74x138 is on your board ? LVX / LCX /LVC ?

Hi Lucky,

I have LCX in U2, LCX in U3 and LVX in U4. I have a rev 2.5d board and am trying to run it on WPC games. I've always had the problem with incorrect sounds being played. All sounds play fine direct from the web interface.

U3 is the 74xx138 and U4 the 74xx00
I found out that having different types in U3 and U4 can lead to such problems. Seems to be a timing issue.
Changing the U4 74LVX00 to LCX should fix it. Both are SOP/SOIC. TSSOP won´t fit.

Thanks for the update Lucky. I've found a local source for them so I'll get one and try it out. Is there any merit in trying to retrofit the pullup/down resistor arrays to the 2.5d board? If so, could you tell me what value they are and I'll order them as well.

lucky1, is this item the same u4 lcx replacement?

That one is the wrong size, it's in the listing as a TTSOP. You need an SOIC size.
