What would be a reasonable price for a nice, routed totally stock MM that is 100% working? Not looking to sell but possibly buy.
Thanks

Thanks everyone who chimed in, seems like $10k is about average based on everyone comments. Let's see what I can come up with.
Quoted from Don1:I'd say actual sale prices would be a better indicator than comments from a very small sample of pinsiders.
EBay's finished auction list is one way to check but aren't there a few resources that track sales of used pinball machines out there?
Doesn't look like much has moved on eBay, and unless I'm reading it all wrong, Boston pinball hasn't been updated since Nov of 2011...so much has changed since then. Will keep my quest updated. Thanks again guys!

Gives the average for MM around 7k which we all know is not true. Year-To-Date shows ~13k
Thanks for clarifying man. Justin, I met you at the Mongolian BBQ during CAX last week, also put a post on SPG asking for some advise on what to look for in a MM.

Quoted from jimjim66:Best answer yet. There are 2 prices for everything.
1. When you sell you don't want to leave money on the table, or have the game sit because the asking price is too high.
2. When you buy, you want it as cheap as possible because you will probably need to spend money on it later, or mod it to your tastes. Plus it makes it easier to sell in the future as you are not hung up on how much you have into it.
Definitely tricky, the dance of price negotiation. I personally suck at it, usually pay what I think is fair only to find out someone just paid 20% less than I did. Doesn’t bother me too bad…more like a slow never ending drip on the forehead.
Didn’t get in the hobby to make money, but hopefully some friends along the way, and give people a place to experience pinball. Just hope not to lose too much money doing so.
