They really only hinted at the Sixers farming the keys, but did have one of the funniest parts of the movie when they showed the lot of them trying to get the Shining key.

I really think they both tell the story and are both excellent in their own elements. The 2nd key to me was the highlight of the movie, even though I remember way back when getting the dot and unlocking the secret message in Adventure. BTW, I haven't played in years, but isn't the dot in the wrong place in the movie? I remember needing the bridge to get into that squared off section and then grabbing it in the lower left hand corner of the screen.

The other Atari easter eggs were cool in Missile Command and Yars Revenge back in the day when you had to wait for the next month's issue of Atari Age instead of looking up online how to see these codes.

The only problem I saw with the movie was that Steven Spielberg didn't want his movies in there and have it become a SS greatest hits compilation. Cool story out there on how they were trying to sneak stuff in past him and he blocked it every time. One little green guy got in there though and he left it in. I didn't see it the first time, but the second time I caught him.

I did like the changes for the movie, and really respect the author for making them as he did the book and co-wrote the screenplay. And adding that Spielberg magic to it, even though he left his creations out, was the icing on the cake for this story.

You might be thinking of the Hobbit. Take 1 book and turn it into 3 overlong movies. LOTR was just right I think.

Because filming a huge road race may be better on the big screen than somebody playing Joust? I liked the fact that I knew the story going into the movie, but I had no idea what exactly was coming next. The second challenge I felt was better than anything in the book.

I'm happy with both versions I can have and enjoy going forward.
