Stern, 2012hi,
After one year of gaming, the ball hits have damaged the colours of Wolverine's belt (black, red, silver).
I have tried to repaint it with acrylic colour, then 3 layers of varnish. After 10 more hits, the colour starts disappearing again. Is it due to the colour type or anything else ?

Did you ever figure out a decent option for repainting? I've noticed that the paint on mine is starting to wear off too, and I'd like to touch it up a little.

No unfortunately. I purchased a second Wolverine part in case I decide to sell my machine. In the meantime I leave the old one with a "bare" belt.
I do not recommend acrylic + varnish. I have tried that, it took 5 games for the balls to remove the colour. As a mitigated solution, I would use oil based paintings + oil based varnish, but not guaranteed.
If you find a better solution, please keep me informed
