Quoted from Frax:How many lights are in that game again? For all I know the stupid thing was burned out... it was at a location, but as someone that's ever played the actual game like TWICE before that, I wouldn't know to be looking for a stupid red light.
Anyways....that thing was f'ing brutal... multiball wasn't a "start it and win" by any means... it always exited the pops on the LEFT, banged against the area in the mid-playfield, and 95% of the time went out the left outlane, which was completely wide open and no rubbers after making that bounce. Scoop over the left flipper was also kicking out to the center drain about 60% of the time, no chance to save it. I had a score of 19 million on one round, and that was pretty amazing compared to almost every other score I saw on it over 3 days...ugh...
You can also start MB at the left scoop once you have 2 balls locked IF you have Believe It or Not lit (i.e., the light above the left scoop is lit). I actually am mad when I start it this way, because I'd rather use the Believe it Or Not shot during multiball for add a ball (high probability).
By the way, the red light TheLaw was referring to does actually say 'Multiball' on the insert.
Did you play it at the tourney in OKC? The strong propensity for left drains out of the pop bumpers is something I think that one developed recently (during the tournament or when they set up the game for the tournament). Also, I think the left scoop SDTM eject is more like 10-15% IME so you might have been unlucky if you were playing that same one and got 60%. I played it twice during the tournament and saw 0 SDTM for me or anyone I was playing with (24 balls played). But, I did get a couple during practice before the tourney, so it may be cyclical.
I also own RBION and mine has never ejected SDTM (always feeds nicely to the left flipper). It might be that the one you (we?) played at the tourney needs a VUK rebuild or the scoop weldment is cracked. I'll bring it up with the owner next time I see him.
