In the coil test, the coil (#5) appears to fire. I can see and hear it. During gameplay, I can hear it and see the plastic cover vibrate a little when it fires.
However, the balls don't get diverted to the left inlane... they drop into the kicker/lock.
There is supposed to be a "L" Shaped metal arm diverter attached (via rivets) to the top part of the coil on the right ramp. It is a pretty big metal piece, I haven't found any online, maybe someone knows where to get it?
Looks like the metal piece sticking out from the bottom of this coil (they say it's for the vari-target but I think they are mistaken?):
