Hey there everyone.

I am relatively new to the hobby. I picked up a RBION. It looks like the magnetic bolt height was never properly adjusted. I believe it should be sitting flush. Anyways as a result, it has mushroomed. I'd like to remove the bolt, coming out the play field side and grind it down. However underneath it is held by a nut. I'm assuming you simply turn the nut counter clock wise but it will not break loose. I mean I can get it off, but I'm afraid I may break something or crack the play field. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Just have to put some power into it, it should break free

You should be able to loosen the nut, and then use a screw driver to turn the core clockwise and remove it through the top side of the playfield. That nut can get pretty stuck sometimes, so you may need a lot of torque.

Huge screwdriver and pliers on it for extra torque.

Thanks for the replies. Can too much torque cause anything else to break?

Update: Got it. Heard nothing cracking so I kept going till it broke loose.

Thanks again everyone.

They probably use loctite. You can get a new magnet core very cheaply. Might as well since your game is apart.

I have always had good luck heating the nut with a mapp gas torch or lighter for the stubborn magnets, being very careful not to burn anything around it.

^^^ + 1 on heat^^^....A little late to the game, but a hair dryer works great also....heat/turn/heat turn etc. if badly mushroomed take out from the top.

May not work flush ! Mine sticks up so does all the ones I've seen . Factory adjust all of them wrong ? After the mag. stops the ball - it needs to roll off - then the mag. flips it back .

TenaciousT mine doesn't flip ball back, is it the coil or something else? it grabs it strong for a second, but instead of the second pulse flipping it to the back, it just drops and heads to the centre of flippers?
