I have wanted one of these since I played one at the beach a couple years ago in a bar. It is finally mine! I just appeared out of nowhere in my basement. Can you believe that???

It had a weird issue when I bought it... it was blowing the Q11 and Q12 transistors as soon as you closed the coin door to enable the high voltage. I had the board looked at and it tested out fine after replacing the blown transistors.... brought it home and blew them out again. After lots of testing, I found that it was actually bad coils that were blowing both transistors. This is the first time I have experienced a bad coil... and it was TWO bad ones... weird. But glad it wasn't something expensive to fix. IT was a gamble, but hey, I really wanted the machine and I was up for a challenge if necessary... that is all part of the fun!

Anyway, the machine is up and running 100% and it is time to SHOP! Here are a few pics. The playfield is actually in GREAT shape underneath all of the typical unshopped pin dandruff...

Yep! I got a few extra transistors from him before I left, because I had a feeling I was going to need them during my trial and error troubleshooting

Hey Shane can you tell me what you find when you remove the scoop trough? We have a Ripley's on location in my town and the trough has never been right. It often doesn't register when the ball lands in there, but shaking the machine a little fixes it. I'm guessing it's some really bad dirt. Also, does this game use trough optos?

#9 12 years ago

Nice score Shane!
Good to see people are finally getting to try this one out.
With the recent popularity of the "Pinball Arcade", I'd wager that RBION will be this summer's/2012's budget "must have" pin...

I believe there are two switches... here is a pic...

By the time Shane's done with it - it'll be worth what it was out of box.

This man is a beautifying machine.

Just wait...

Yeah... I was getting worried because I have had my eye on the pin for a while. When it came out on the Pinball Arcade I figured I wouldn't be able to find one anywhere. I just love the Lawlor pins...Stern or Bally/Williams!

#13 12 years ago

You probably got it for a song, too, with the blown transistors. Congrats, ya lucky bastard!

Not exactly... it was more like a song and dance plus another hundred bucks

#15 12 years ago

Sorry, I probably didn't make myself clear enough. I want to know how much dirt the trough collects. But after seeing the design, I'm thinking the problem might be the ball hanging on the switch.

Oh, sorry about that, but you are probably right... The switch probably just needs to be adjusted a little.

Nice game, good score!! Love the theme.

I am thinking about selling T2. I have a couple local friends that are considering it. If it doesn't work out, I will probably put it up on the market.

If I had more room, I would probably keep them all!

Whirlwind isn't going anywhere! I made the mistake of selling it once. Not again!!!

I really like T2. You have to be on with your shots, or Arnold will beat you to a pulp in no time.

Nice pin Shane

#30 12 years ago

I personally don't believe it. Just smoke and mirrors.

#31 12 years ago

I love how much I hate you right now!!!

Congrats, bud!!! Looks like a great and fun game!

Its not bad on Williams pinball arcade. Hate the video game flipper delay. Hows the game play and flow?

#33 11 years ago
Quoted from Av8:

I am absolutely LOVING the gameplay. Everyone that has come by to play it are loving it, too.... immediately, which doesn't always happen.

It tastes like shot of Whirlwind, TZ, and FH...shaken up with a twist of lime and a one of those funny umbrellas. It has some stop and go elements, but it also has some good flow with the upper flipper if you can get it looping back around, right ramp, and left ramp when it is diverted through the A lane. Multiball is very satisfying. The game is just pure madness...crazy characters and sounds. The rules are nice and deep and it keeps me coming back for more. I couldn't ask for anything more out of a pin. A+ in my book.

There is still no substitute to the real thing. The video game is a nice attempt to recreate the game, but the physics just aren't there yet.

We're lucky to have one in my hometown theater. It plays ok, but has a few switch issues that hang things up. I'll see if I can work with the op on getting those fixed.

#37 11 years ago

Great table.

I have one with an issue.. It's always searching for balls once turned on, yet it has the correct amount installed.

The software is the most recent.

Sounds like you have a bad trough switch.

#39 11 years ago

Shane did you find a dimple in the scoop trough caused by the ball landing repeated times? I'm curious to know if this is a problem.

I didn't notice any dimple in mine. My switch did need a slight adjustment to get it to work 100%.

For the record, I LOVE this game. I don't want to even tear it down for the shop job because I won't be able to play it for a few days. This game is SOOOOO underrated. Look up the word "underrated" in the dictionary... forget the actual definition... you should just see a picture of RBION. Great gravy! I am so happy I bought this game.

It is also an instant hit with all of my friends.

I felt the same way!

FYI, it wasn't fun to shop it! The ramps are a pain. I'm glad to have it all back together again. I popped a CT superbright kit in mine, and it certainly is super bright!

Ok, it is starting to come back together after many hours of scrubbing, polishing, cursing, waiting for parts (this also involved cursing), and 10's of beers....

I can't wait to play it again! I am really liking the Cointaker 2led "warm" leds for most of the GIs. They really aren't warm, but they are actually somewhere between the warm and cool frosted and supers in color temp. I am using Cointaker warm retros under the areas that really need a warm look, like under the slings and under the large plastic along the right side. I decided to try some of the NoFlix flashers since this game likes to vary the flasher on and off instead of just turning them on and off completely. I am hoping these will keep the flashers from strobing. I also ordered a few 555 NoFlix to try in the inserts since they also have this pulsing effect at times that can cause a nasty strobing effect with standard leds. I will charge up my real digital camera and get some good quality pics when it is all together.

Added a 555 2led warm under the Idol plastic. I think it looks better. It was too dark before...
