Your idol opto are likely original and need to be replaced. The video clearly shows this. The optos used during the Whitestar era didn't age well. Eventually they become susceptible to phantom closures from flashers and other lights. When they get really bad, most any change in lighting will trigger them. Yours are 15 years old now. Replace them and your problems will disappear.

You should also change the shrunken head optos and the mini ramp optos. The idol optos show their age first because they are lower on the playfield and exposed to more lighting, but the shrunken head optos can also get phantom hits. The mini ramp optos are shielded nicely, but they're 15 year crap Whitestar optos. The replacement optos are cheap. Replace all 3 pairs and you won't have to worry about them for another 10 years.
