Is this a common occurrence on rbion machines. I'm speaking of where the ball drops in the return lane. Thanks.

#2 8 years ago

Yes it's common on pretty much any game this happens

#3 8 years ago

To the point you need to shake it to make it move sometimes? Because I don't have this issue on any of the games I own. Thinking of trading for one but this troubles me. Seems to me If it's got a dimple big enough to stall the ball it's got to have an extreme amount of use...no?

#4 8 years ago

That seems extreme yes...although you could cliffy it. You played this machine yourself? Was it at the right pitch?

#5 8 years ago

No havnt seen in person, but offered up by fellow pinsider who I suspect has it set up right. Thinking rbion might be a keeper so wanna make sure I get the right one. Dimple that stops ball on occasion seems extreme to me but don't have experience with this title.

#6 8 years ago

I gotta tell you that does sound a little extreme to me.

Quoted from oldskool1969:

I believe it does work great (cliffy). My worry is if it's common in this game, or does this machine have an enormous amount of play to have this wear. If it's not common this game is not for me, that's what I'm trying to figure out. I'm leaning not normal as I've never heard this before.

#9 8 years ago

I bought a HUO RBION that quickly developed a dimple that held the ball. Made me crazy that I had to shake it loose. A Cliffy fixed it without any issues. Make sure to set the cliffy high enough in the lane to get the ball to drop as centered as possible. I then put the lane Cliffy's on my NIB IMVE just in case.

#10 8 years ago

This could be normal for the game, it could be a heavily used game or just a soft spot in the wood that coincided with the drop. I would use the shooter lane as a better judge of game usage. In any case if the playfield, cabinet, etc. are in good shape, who cares how many games it has on it.

Must have had a hell of a lot of games as these play fields were built tough. If it is getting stuck, are you sure there is enough clearance from the bottom of the rail form where it drops?
When I rebuilt mine I did make that mistake of not enough washers and it caught by a mickey whisker.
Great game though, what are our thoughts Dude?

No worries and thanks for insight I've found a huo I'm going to move on instead.

Don't overpay for it...HUO doesn;t mean a lot with this title..unless the scoop isn't blown out whcih is rare

I have a HUO that I am considering selling. It has zero scoop or shooter lane wear. It looks like it came out of the box with the black alley temple mods, big foot crossing, LEDs, Titan flippers and colored sleeves. I am open to offers and can help with coordinating shipping. I can be reached at 7082887443.

Thanks,
Mike

If you want to sell your game, I would suggest you post it in the marketplace rather than steal someone else's thread.

Don't think I'm overpaying and no scoop wear at all.

Good job...welcome to the club!

I have owned two. Both heavily routed. Never had this issue ever. Plenty of other fun ones. Scoop wear, magnet wear, mushroomed magnet cores that have deformed the playfield, broken scoops, etc etc. Stern pfs can have soft wood. I've seen it on several games from this time period, but never had balls sit where they shouldn't from it.

Same here. I have this title and I'm the 2nd owner. First owner purchased it for his brother and he thought it too big for the house & immediately sold it. I know that mine has very little play on it, but I've never heard of this issue before. (even with extreme play) Looks like a Cliffy would fix the issue, but appears you've found a better copy of the machine anyways. Good luck!

I'm picking up tues, I'll be sure to post some pics.

She cost me 400 more but I think this huo example worth it. Just got it unloaded.

Sorry, display is correct but my CPu is 3.2

#35 8 years ago

So I download code to thumbdrive, but no USB this far back? Or atleast I didn't see it. Gotta buy a new cpu rom I guess...? Games pretty cool so far seems sound is its biggest weakness for me. 66million is my top so far.

#36 8 years ago

You'll need a Rom Chip. I don't know what the 3.1 to 3.2 differences are. Probably gets rid of the ball saver if you have one.
Can't remember what I updated from originally

#37 8 years ago

Changes from CPU v3.02
-------------------------------------------------------------------
- Modified Flipper EOS timing to be compatible with newer games.
- Improved broken Shrunken Head compensation.
- Improvements to ToPS tournament system.
- Removed erroneous broken switch messages from Tech Alert.

#38 8 years ago

Funny thing, I got 2 switches saying their broken. Look brand new(as they should under 100 plays) and seem to function as they should. Been driving me freaking nuts. Well atleast I have an answer now. Thanks for that priceless info.

#40 8 years ago
