Just bought one of these, will get it when I get a day off from work. This will be my first Gottlieb, are there any things I should know ahead of time besides the ground mod?
Quoted from PhillyArcade:New Raven owner checking in! I had one before sold it years back and ran across this one recently cheap so I grabbed it. She needs a little help and repairs. Some pics as is are here...

Few issues I need to work with.... I have the issue with the sound as others. Backround sound is not there. Sound board blinking like it should and in play game sounds work when you hit things fine but no cheese game backround music. Anyone can shine some light on that issue would be great. Seems to be a common issue. I have a manual in route so that will help me more with it.
Also my ramp is not working. Well won't go up. I'm sure it's something on the driver board. Needs flippers rebuilt, some cleaning and rubbers but she should come up nice in the end. If anyone can shine some light on the sound and ramp issue that would be great! Thanks!
Looks good. Mine looks a little dull compared to your photos.
So I spent the day cleaning the playfield, polished some of the metal, waxed the playfield, and almost completed the LEDs. Some of the sockets are a real pain to get to, I'm glad I'm putting in LEDs just for their long life.
Someone installed a black drop target for one of the snipers so I replaced it with the correct clear one.
I also flame polished the ramp and am very pleased with the result. I couldn't see the "Special When Lit", but instead just saw a red glow because of how cloudy the ramp was.
I put everything back together and was finally ready to give the freshly cleaned game a shot and my right sling coil burned up. I must have hit the switch closed when I was cleaning and didn't realize the coil was on until it was too late so now I have to replace it. I'm hoping that's the problem, I'll have a look tomorrow.
I bought the correct coil for my right flipper and still have to change that along with the dual EOS switch. My pops still need a little adjustment, but I almost have them right.
Things left to do:
Correct flipper coils.
Fix driver board where Q22 burned up.
New decals.
Adjust pops.
Replace sling coil.
Hopefully create a new translite as mine is very faded and I don't like the current alternates for this game. They just don't fit the playfield art.
I wouldn't mind having a new playfield one day, but I'll live with this one for now.
Other than that, I'm almost ready to throw Raven in my lineup instead of where it's sitting now so I can work on it.
Quoted from KillerQ:I didn't have the patience to skew the image to fit the backglass perfectly.... but here's how my new design will look....
Looks good!
I just put a Harbor Freight lift cart through the bottom of mine this past weekend taking it to a pinball show. The game still works fine, but now I have some cabinet repair to learn.
Quoted from c508:that must have been a big surprise! I probably would have just stared in disbelief before swearing...
The game still played for the 3 days of the show so at least I didn't break the game itself. Lesson learned.
Yeah, I had completely forgotten about Pit Fighter until I saw it today. I wish I had had time to play those games.
Looks interesting. How about a photo from farther away? I can't even get up the ramp so I'm a little frustrated with my Raven at the moment.
