Quoted from Geocab:Looks interesting. How about a photo from farther away? I can't even get up the ramp so I'm a little frustrated with my Raven at the moment.
Will do! I’ll post it this weekend as I’m just now tearing into the game. Haven’t even reseated/burnished the contacts or ground mods.
Game lights and boots up goes into attract mode
Display doesn’t come on
Push start and the game tries to start, but goes back into attract mode. Might be the blown trough fuse
No sound
All the fuses under the PF look blown. I’m assuming those are Pop Bumpers, Slings, Etc.
Helicopter works in attract mode!
Got Raven to work.
Re-seated all connectors
Made sure the tilt-bob was Level
Brushed the Sound Board Connector and backed it off just a little- that worked!!!
Flippers work
Display Works
Ramp and Helicopter works
All the Pop Bumper fuses are blown so I’ll replace those and see what happens
Unreal!
Here’s a couple of photos of the custom wire ramp that came with the game
I'm actually impressed by the sounds and the pf artwork. How do I get a Predator Translite for this thing!?
Quoted from extraballingtmc:What should I be paying for an average working raven?
If this thing was sitting in a Costco or Sams Club, people would pay $2,000 for Christmas.
I just got this and love it, but I like the sound of Helicopters and Machine Guns! The PF has amazing art.
This thing has "Snipers", actual Snipers, are you kidding me!
People pay $8,000 for MM just to hit pop up trolls, this is JUST LIKE THAT
Now in the real world-
If it's working, from $600 to ? (depending on condition)
Now ask:
Will it need a new Translite?
Will it need a new Rubber Set?
Light Bulbs?
Etc, etc it all adds up
Removing the old mylar from the lower PF. I’m using the Freeze Spray method and learned that the best results are spraying on the top and underneath the mylar. The PF looks really nice. I did have an insert decal come up, but no paint removal.
I look forward to spending hours removing the mylar glue.

I bought a 4AA battery holder at Micro Center for $2.50. I just did that with a blocking diode.
This was my first Freeze Spray. You got to let the spray sit for a sec or two before pulling. It’s as if the mylar is popping off the glue. I also learned it’s about spraying both top and underneath.
I’m super pleased as it looks so much better.
Next step is removing the PF and putting it on my rotisserie
Quoted from bicyclenut:Which game is better? Raven or Special Force?
Since it’s not cool to own a Raven, it’s cool to own a Raven. All the cool kids are doing it.
Come on and join the club!
Quoted from Frippertron:I was wondering if one of you Raven owners could shoot some hi def gameplay? There is not much video of this game available and 99% of it is low quality. It would be nice if people could see that this game is much better than they think it is.
As soon as I get this thing put back together, I’ll take a video. I don’t think many people know of the great artwork on this PF. The entire Playfield is covered with art.

Quoted from zimjoe:Cleaned up the photo-shopping a little. The fire doesn't look as abrupt and I cleaned up the mask on the title. I loaded the 25x20 inch version to Google drive. I'll send you the link via PM.
It is not perfect by a long shot, but I think it will fit the new theme
This is amazing, thank you!
OK, my Raven works 99%. The feature sounds will come on (machine gun, targets sound) and then disappear during a game. The music and Helicopter sounds remain.
So what do y'all think? Cold Solder joint? Connector?
The gound mods to the transformer housing have been done, but no other ground mods.
Sometimes I have to toggle the game off and on to get her to boot up correctly.
So first is to check 5V supply, then add a light film of solder to the connector fingers on the board.
Otherwise, she plays great!

FIXED!!! I just needed to adjust the +5V Pot to get the voltage up from 4.5V at the MPU (I measured across the C1 capacitor at the top of the MPU board next to the J1 connector), it was showing 4.5V, so I adjusted the voltage pot to get a strong 5V
Boots up perfectly every time and the sound is now consistent.
