That's a steal at $1, I'll take it.

EDIT: Ahh i see it wasn't $1 after all, but 8k +

#4 6 years ago

Most ridiculous post on Pinside right now !!

Oh wait ....

#5 6 years ago

If your asking 8k please dont list the item for 1 dollar.

#6 6 years ago

Barkeep, I'll have what he's having

#7 6 years ago

Starting at 8k? Does anyone want to pay MORE than 8k? No? So it's $8k then...

How did you come up with that figure ? Curious as it seems to be one of a kind. What do you gauge it against ?

I'm guessing that picture of Jesus burned into toast.

Does it have LEDs?

#11 6 years ago

Does it blow you?

For those of you who are more budget conscious, he does also have a PM plastic set for 600.

Nice item, but too expensive for me to buy. I know if I owned this I wouldn't let it go for cheap if it is indeed original and was hung at Capcom's headquarters (do you have proof of this?). But it's only worth as much as someone's willing to pay for it, even though it's one of a kind :/. Best bet would be to put it up as an auction (ebay) and let the market determine it's worth, otherwise you'll be hanging onto it it for a while at 8k. I could be wrong and a hardcore Pinball Magic collector will jump on this, but don't know how many are out there willing to pay that much. Time will tell.

Backglass original art doesn't come up often. And the woman on the backglass was a magician or medium from the early last century. So it may reach beyond the pinball fans.

I agree - neat item that would be worth more than a backglass. But a buyer might have questions like - who is the artist? is it signed? is it dated? are there other versions?

Not knowing the answer to those questions or having any documentation hurts the value a bit. I would estimate more in the $1k +/- range.

Very true. There's a guy out in Vancouver that has a wholw bunch of original game art from arcade games and NES games. I know he has the original Wolfenstien art (if I'm not mistaken from the arcade?). He said He would never sell them and if he did it would be 10k or more.

Totally agree with the estimate of $1k+. Just getting a reproduction done by an artist will cost more than that. If the seller did have proof and more information it would help his cause.

Anyone remember Wacky Packs? I was active in that hobby as a kid and also from about 1998 -2003 when all hell broke loose about the "original art". People paying $5k and 10k+ for the original 5x7 paintings of wacky packages. It was nuts.

The asking price for this Capcom piece kind of reminds me of those days.

Was it nuts...or nuts & bolts!

The seller isn't a collector, he's a gentleman that was well-involved in pinball art, development, and programming. I've purchased many pieces of art for many thousands of dollars from the seller, and I can't say enough good things about him. He ships fast, packs well, and maintains fantastic communication throughout the transaction.

If Magic Girl can sell for $16,000+, I see no reason why something like this couldn't reach sell for $8,000.

#21 6 years ago

Let me check my power ball numbers Wednesday night. If I hit you got a deal......would you be willing to go lower.......

#22 6 years ago

I can see why it's not 8K I am willing to bet he's got less than 500 in it. Who's the artist? That matters.

#23 6 years ago

Do you have the Big Bang Bar one too?

Magic girl not only includes the backglass, it includes the rest of the machine. But I do get the whole one off, and master template part of this though.

True, but this painting still plays better.

I guess, artist must be Hugh Van Zanten. He was the art designer.
