New to pinball. Picked up a SS Gottlieb Close Encounters machine. On advice from pinball community removed the NiCad battery. Reinstalled board and all seemed fine. Cleaned playfield as it was in desperate need. Replace the old lights with LED light for newer look and hopefully less warping of playfield. Started machine back up and intermittent power losses. No flipper action just dead. Then after a few seconds power resumes. Any ideas what to check to resolve?

I'd go over board connectors first, especially power to flippers.

    Power supply rebuilt?

Cpu board and driver board connectors checked for corrosion or broken terminals?

Fuseholders and fuses checked in bottom of cabinet?
