mmmmm wondering if I should fit a blue one to Jaws now!
Quoted from KJS:mmmmm wondering if I should fit a blue one to Jaws now!
Go for it!
Quick update...ive been working every day lately on getting some stock built up. I am hoping to start running some Rollergames ramps this week if things go well. Then hopefully have DE Playboy and the back ramp for Fire! done ahead of Pinfest. Still playing wack-a-mole restocking items as they run out...but things should be slowing down soon as spring is almost at our doorstep.
Also started to add hang tags to all of my ramps. No more wondering what ramp you bought 6 years ago for that project you planned to get to some day, I have you covered!
Here is some news on one that I did not think was possible. These are some rough cut first pulls for the upcoming Roller Coaster Tycoon ramps! I originally thought the big ramp would have to be split to fit my machine, but the large one is right at the very edge of the limit. I still have work to do on making jigs and whatnot, and there is no need to sign up for any list. As always, I do not accept deposit money. I promise you there will be enough to go around when they are launched sometime in late April.
Special thanks to Troy at Top Score Gamerooms LLC out of Festus, MO for providing me sample ramps to copy. I would not be able to do these projects without folks like him!
Quoted from the96stang:Any shot for MNF ramps?
Zero shot on those unfortunately...those tight roll around lips that DE used specifically on that ramp will require a cast aluminum mold, which is big money.
Right now, this is the last ramp project for a while, other than the previously announced Fire! back ramp and DE Playboy.
Quoted from WalrusPin:Is your site currently down?
No, it is loading fine for me...you may need to refresh possibly?
Quoted from JodyG:No, it is loading fine for me...you may need to refresh possibly?
Maybe there webserver had crashed. It is loading fine now - thank you!
Couple quick notes:
I will have a handful of new DE Playboy and Fire! back ramps for sale at the Allentown show next week. I will put the extras on my site after the show and also do another run once I get back. I may have a couple RCT ramp sets at the show as well, but that depends on how the rest of this week goes. I just have a display ramp done at this time.
If you are at the show, stop by...I will have stock of every ramp I make there.
Quoted from chad:I like the clothes rack set up for the ramps.
Definitely an ease of inventory.
Its a space saver for sure...I am pretty pressed for space, and storing horizontally wastes too much of it! I use to store all the small Gottlieb ramps in bus tubs, but those have now been condensed down into right-sized compartments in the rack on the right. Probably going to have to invest in a 5th rack soon.
Nice picture of the wall of ramps. This means there should be no reason for games with shabby ramps. So how much a dent/selling will be made in this at the Allentown show if you were to guess? Hopefully a good number.

I do not sell that many at the show...it is mainly an event where I show off my new items and meet customers face to face. I only do Pinfest as it is a "selling" show more than most of the other shows. Most of the farther away shows would cost me serveral thousand dollars to get to and set up before I even sell a ramp. I woild rather invest that money in tooling up more new offerings. I am, however, changing my approach to selling this year and making it easier to see what I have and how much it is. The racks I use are used for my regular storage throughout the year, so it is easier to just wheel them on the truck as they sit.
I have been running production hard since November, and I hopefully have enough slack built up that I can just ship orders for the most part until July. Pinfest is just my natural jumping off point for having stock built up and then taking a break for a bit while the weather is nice here.
As always, if it is available to buy on my website, it is available to ship next business day. I have never and will never take money for products that I do not yet have.
Small preview of what I am doing in my booth this year. Lots of work left to do this weekend!

I’m definitely in for one of those playboy ramps. Curious what it would look like in blue, since they are waterslides….?
Nothing I love more than getting a box of your good seconds, and laying out a homebrew. Last box was about 50/50, but still fun to play around with for the price. Your junk + my imagination= good fun!
Hey JodyG,
Thanks for all your work with the ramps. Found this thread while looking for replacement Frankenstein ramps. I see you have the upper/smaller ramp available on your website, so I'll be ordering that soon since I'm doing a restore of mine. I was looking through this thread to see if there was any indication of working on the lower/bigger ramp. Is your main hang-up not having a donor piece to copy/compare against? I might be willing to work that out with you to help the cause.

I have not given this one a thought on color, but I can do a one off if someone is serious about it.

Ty for what you do!
Thank you!!

My secondary hangup is not having a donor...my main hangup is I am going to be chilling out a bit on new projects for a few months. I've run pretty hard since November, which ramp making has amounted to nearly two full time jobs. I am going to be a little selective going forward on what projects I take on, since I am also maintaining availability of the 70+ pieces I currently make. As of right now, I have one more ramp I know I am doing this year, and that is all I will commit to at the moment.
Quoted from djscottymiami:Hey JodyG Thank you so much for making replacement ramps for RCT! I've been looking for a set for ages.
I looked at your website though and I don't see them on there. Are they going to be listed soon and do you ship to Canada?
I do not have them listed yet. I am bringing 3 main ramps to Allentown and 6 of the small ramp because that is all I had material for. I had a few failures during form testing to work through. I wound up having to jump to .187" material on these due to the mold being female. .187 is 50% more money than .125", but the cost is not going to translate to a 50% more expensive final price. The .125" was just too flimsy for my liking. This also beefs up the area that tends to break on this ramp...the gate mount point at the "Y" on the lower right side. I will order more material after Pinfest and do another batch for the web site. Canada shipping is no problem, but its going to be a bit expensive due to having to go Priority Mail international due to size.

djscottymiami don’t hesitate for a second having
JodyG ship to us up here.
My Checkpoint ramp arrived shockingly fast and in perfect shape, and I have a few friends that have had the same experience, and it really is only a few dollars more for shipping.

I definitely understand needing to take a break. Can't run too hard for too long.
In general is there a minimum quantity you need to hit for design and a production run? Just curious if you know what that might for the Frankenstein lower ramp. If you have a number in mind just to make this feasible for you at some point in the future, I'll post in the owners thread and see how many other buyers I can get to commit.
Thanks.
Quoted from MrBigg:Here's one of your ramps that I got out of a box of seconds. Thought you'd like to see your work in a homebrew rather than the normal replacement?
Thanks for the good stuff!

This is super awesome, thank you for sharing!!

I have enough interest in needed to do it...I just cannot commit to a timeframe of doing it. In the past, I have burned myself by making commitments at this time of the year for fall projects, and then having some folks hound me for them weekly starting in July so they can complete their flip projects. It kind of ruins my summer and burns me out when I get pushed into doing projects during the time of year when the weather is best here...so I won't make the same mistake again. As long as you have some patience in you, you will be rewarded at some point
Also note, cutoff for orders on my site is tomorrow, May 2nd at 2PM ET. After that I will be at Allentown. As always, I do not accept payment for ramps I do not have ready to ship. I will probably snooze the site altogether Friday-Saturday since my inventory will not be up to date again until after the show.
Orders placed after the second will not ship until the 8th. If you are sure you need a ramp in the next couple months, now is the time. Anything that sells out between now and July will be most likely out of stock until July-August.

That's great to hear. Perfectly fine waiting. I'm a player, not a flipper This will likely be the last piece I need to finish my restoration, but my original ramp is perfectly usable until then. Whenever you get to that point, if you still need a donor, feel free to reach out.
Thanks!
Many thanks to Jody for hooking me up with some scrap ramps for my Last Action Hero wall art project.

You did a great job on Frankenstein. I really wish you would consider Judge Dredd. Very popular, and most have damaged ramps. Thank you, again.
Is the royal rumble subway possible? Mine just broke and i feel like a lot of people need them, but perhaps i am mistaken. I found a 3d printed replacement on ebay, but im not sure how long 3d print subway will last. Anyway part # is 545-5439-00. Thanks for all you do, your products are amazing.
Quoted from tectonyc:Would there be interest in TSPP garage ramps?
all those ramps would be nice some day. can't get them anywhere
Quoted from ccbiggsoo7:all those ramps would be nice some day. can't get them anywhere
Wonder if clear would be cool for TSPP to get a better glimpse of the art behind the main ramp.
Quoted from MiniPinHead:Could the Time Machine spiral ramp be redesigned so that it's makeable?
No...not from me.
Quoted from Spunky1562:I’m in for Batman Forever.
Me too, any chance we’ll get this one this year or next?
I have a brand new, unused set of ramps that I no longer have any use for. I sold the machine a while back. It is a set of ramps for Indianapolis 500. They were purchased from ramp O-Matic a while back and never used. Comes with brand new ramp decals! I will sell them for less than they cost and they are still in the original box. Buyer pays shipping. Let’s make a deal!
Just got shipping confirmation for my set of Rollercoaster Tycoon ramps. Thank you so much for what you do!!
You should have a look at the ones for Monopoly next !! I'd down to buy those ones as well!!
