Still "on vacation" here but I have been working on new molds in the meantime when we get the occasional hot days. We have actually had a mild summer here so far, which has not happened in ages it seems. Here are some important updates:
Tron/Hot Shots:
I purposely have not started product pages on my site for the Tron ramps yet because I think the initial interest list will be too large for me to fulfill right away. So I am going to make as many as I have plastic for and get them listed and sold as a first come first serve on the web site, and then will run more batches successively until demand is satisfied. I will most likely be running Hot Shots with this concurrently as long as my special Hot Shots mold works like I hope it does. As you know, the turn after the accelerator on the one HS ramp is concave and appears to have used a 2-piece mold from the factory, so I am recreating that on my mold.
That being said....I am going to be on the Tron ramps for the foreseeable future and will be pivoting into Hook/Frankenstein from there. If I have a ramp in stock that you need, you should probably not wait to pick it up until later, as it will be a while before I run any new batches of other ramps. I am currently running a Summer Solstice sale on all in stock ramp orders of $125 or more from today through Sunday (6/26/22). The discount is automatically applied in your cart at www.rampomatic.com
Frankenstein:
A note on Frankenstein. Right now I am just doing the smaller of the two ramps with the vertical slots in the sidewalls. My sample ramp is NOS, so I have a really good master to go from. However, there is a secondary machined part to this ramp in the trough that is a bit of a head scratcher and I will need to consult the Frankenstein thread to see exactly what the deal is there, what mounts there and come up with a plan to recreate this properly. Not a show stopper, but it adds an unusual challenge that needs to be worked out.
Hook
Hook is coming...I have the molds partially built and will finish them as time and material on hand permit. I am doing the skill shot and whirlpool ramp only. A beautiful Rufio ramp is already available from Freeplay40. I *think* the skillshot ramp for Hook will be able to be cut down for Monday Night Football as well, but the main MNF ramp is most likely not ever going to happen unfortunately. Those molds would have to be aluminum due to the ridiculously tight folds where there would usually be a lip. I cannot subtract these folds in some places because they are used to mount the ramp on the left side and a flasher on the right.
Ripley's
I picked up a nice copy of this game at Allentown and plan to keep it a while because it is one of my personal favorites. I will eventually redo both ramps with a clear option because I think that may make the game possibly look even better. The right ramp is still available NOS from Marco, but the left ramp is not out there anywhere as far as I know. This is a future passion project more than anything, but if you happen to be looking for RBION ramps, feel free to drop me a line and it may help bump the timeline up a bit.
Quoted from YERFDOG:Definitely much needed! I just re-broke my center ramp and my left ramp has a crack now too
Probably not until fall/winter at the soonest right now.
No plans at this time, but who know what the future holds.
Quoted from YERFDOG:I know the Sega Baywatch ramps have already been remade, but any chance we can get the very common broken subway reproduced?
The subway would have to be two pieces because it is very long. I can look into it once I am caught up again.
