Quoted from TimeBandit:I don't want to cause video fatigue by throwing up more gameplay videos, but if anyone wants to see something specific I will put it up.
MORE VIDEO! I'm stoked about this mod...
Quoted from thedarkknight77:By the time you people stop modding your pros, you could have bought an LE!
We don't take kindly to your types round here...
Quoted from TimeBandit:Might even do an extended gameplay vid now that all the modes are finished.
Yes please. Just let the camera roll and play for an hour.
Quoted from TimeBandit:Owners of the board will have access to a download area where they will always be able to grab the latest code
Awesomeness bump
Quoted from TimeBandit:I thought I would throw in another little tasteful bonus effect not on the Prem/LE.
Quoted from herg:Sorry, maybe TimeBandit and I should take the discussion offline.
Haha, not at all necessary. Just having some fun. I hope to learn more about this stuff. Thanks.
Gotcha. Good time for a break. Will do tomorrow. This was second to last step, so far it has been a breeze (fun even). Wiring to all sockets was spot on.
the 12v near the coin door is powering my britemod LED flipper buttons. I assume I can split it to power the lightshow board?

Anybody considering piggybacking for LED's in the backbox? Seems like a no-brainer, tell me why I shouldn't try this...
Quoted from TimeBandit:Maybe I should call Stern, tell them there is a reason to sell it now, and that if they dropped the price to something palatable they would sell a bunch. I can't imagine many are moving off the shelves as a spare part.
Couldn't hurt. I've sent them an email simply requesting the unit. Perhaps if they start to see some demand...
Quoted from Mudflaps:I'd be careful. Remember the whole drama with Non-Stern Spike shakers and warranty? If you're adding boards and installing motors, someone may run into a warranty issue.
Technically, I can agree with the warranty policy. In fact, one could argue that warranty policies are usually in place to protect manufacturers more than the consumers. I can't see how they can support a product when tinkerers are pulling it apart and modding it up and down.
That being said, Stern seems to do a great job in supporting their product and they know that part of the reason they sell machines is because people like to tinker with them.
Quoted from BOBCADE:Tap #5 and up use something to bump up the voltage from 5v to 12v like this
Nice looking execution! Thanks for the link.
Quoted from R4840:FYI Stern will no longer sell the cross mechanism unless you provide a Premium or LE serial # they do not want people to modify their Pro to add this to there machines.
Weak.
Quoted from jeffgoldstein2:How long does this installation roughly take for Met?
Hard to say for me, since I tend to work in small increments over a few days. All in, I doubt you would need to spend more than 2-3 hours for sure.
This is one of those mods you'll want to take your time with. Well worth it in the end.
Quoted from TimeBandit:$85 mark as an add on to the Lightshow,
Absolutely yes please.
Quoted from TimeBandit:It is recommended that F2 be permanently replaced with a 500mA fast blow fuse
Excuse my ignorance, are these 1-1/4" (6x30mm)?
Wow, very nice. Interested in pricing.
I would like to see a mode where they move a bit less overall, additionally, they would be sweet acting like a spotlight following the ball in fade to black.
This is the type of stuff that makes me love this hobby. True ingenuity. Great work.
Quoted from GoldenBear:Anybody have any feedback on that?
You're going to want to wait, timebandit is working on a non oem solution that will be much less costly.
Quoted from TimeBandit:Quoted from gweempose:
I agree. The colored GI strings are used to great effect on XMLE, and it would be a nice addition to the pro.
Alright. I'll do it. Word out today that I need a X-Men pro.
STOP DISTRACTING TIMEBANDIT! I need him to work on my rising cross!
They sell the spinner brackets at Marco. Is there any difference with the hooked spinners, and just DIY with switches and clips? or is it just convenience of having them pre assembled?
Quoted from TimeBandit:I can't guarantee this would be effective, but I think, Rens, you would be the first person on the entire planet to have a splitter on the rs232 port. And this would cement your position as having the most modded Metallica in existence.
Has this been attempted? I'm in the same boat, Smart DMD installed using the rs232 port. I would love to add the spinners too.
Hey Bandit,
Want to place an order for the spinner sound kit, but holding out hope to bundle it with the rising cross. Any hope of that this year?
Quoted from TimeBandit:Well, it is just a generic piston with a rotary switch actuator. Hardly patent material. Ok, I'll get back on it.
Anyone tried superbrights for their lightshow? (http://www.pinballlife.com/index.php?p=product&id=2561)
My blues seem a bit washed out, but these might be overkill. Thoughts?
Quoted from gweempose:What blue LEDs are you currently using?
Cointaker 2's I Believe.
Anyone updating the code having difficulty with "The best driver is already installed"? I'm able to see the device, but cannot get a good driver installed.
Quoted from TimeBandit:Does the device you are able to see look like this, with this label?..
It shows as:
Unknown device (device descriptor request failed)
Quoted from TimeBandit:Is this the first time you've updated code? There is some software needed and maybe you don't have it yet. Details are at the top of the downloads page on the website. Apologies if you've already done that, but hard for me to tell.
Thanks, Bandit. I think I have everything installed but will double check and follow up in PM.
Quoted from gweempose:I bought an entire set of premium/LE plastics just to get the four that I needed with the notches already cut out.
Additionally, you won't be nearly as annoyed if you have a plastic break with those spares sitting in the coinbox
