Can anyone explain the function and purpose of the ramp entry switch in WOZ?
Does it control the diverter function in any way, the ramp made switch confirms the ramp made but I don't really know what the funtion of the entry switch is. Mine works fine in switch test but doesn't seem to do anything during play. If I shoot a few loops when there is no ball lock on the ball will simply swish through the ramp and does't seem to award anything. Can anyone explain how the ramp switches are supposed to work and what each switch does or controls?

Thanks in advance,

Tom

Ramp entry switches historically have not done much during gameplay, except to make a sound to alert the player they did hit the entrance. A few (TAF) are used on converging ramps so the game knows which of the two you hit, and some are used to trigger diverters. WOZ actually does use the entrance switch to flip the munchkin flipper a couple times to alert the player where the ball is going on the first time that mini playfield is qualified.

I'm not sure if the switch is triggering a sound, sometimes I hear a sound when it hits the entry switch but can't tell if that was it or something else. I did start a game with the glass off and trigger the switch manually and it didn't make a sound then. Maybe only make sound under certain conditions? Also haven't noticed the small flipper flipping on the first munchin feild entry but maybe I just haven't noticed due to the mayhem on the playfield! I'll keep an eye on that...

Thanks for the reply and info...

take the glass off, start a game and use a ball with your hand to hit all the "rainbow" targets to qualify "twister" mode then trigger the ramp switch. you will then see the munchkin flipper flip, and if you trigger the second switch the house will spin, but if you have the "ECMB" locks ready for a ball lock that switch will close the gate for the munchkin pf and send the ball to lock under the munchkin huts.

I'll have to try that, I do get the house spinning and the balls locking so it's probably working normally but I'll try that and see if the munchin flipper flips as you mentioned. Thanks! Good info!

i think it acts as a delay from switch 1 to switch 2 so the machine can have an extra second to "think" what mode it is going to send the ball too.
when i have twister ready but not enough topspin on the ball to make the ramp when it hits the first switch the munchkin pf flippers flip, but i dont get the 2nd switch so the timer doesn't start to count.
