Is there a trick to raising the single checkered flag drop target in Checkpoint during 3 ball multiball and starting jackpot? On my machine i've seen 3-ball multiball achieved many times but that single drop target never raises and jackpot mode never starts. I've read the manual and it says jackpot mode starts during 3-ball multiball. Am i missing something?

Running the appropriate coil tests indicates that the target's coil is working fine and the target can be raised/lowered fine in diagnostics.

I believe i've solved the issue. The drop target switch was dirty and effectively stuck open. This caused the game to avoid entering jackpot mode, likely because it could not correctly or reliably determine the state of the drop target.
