I have the opportunity to snag a nice example of either Radical or Mousin Around for reasonable prices. The mousin is local and $2500, and the radical requires shipping and is $3500. I've never owned a system 11 and these two have been on my list for a while. I have a small collection and, at this point, I was thinking a less complex system 11 would be fun. I tend to rotate my collection a fair amount, but possibly looking for more keepers at this stage.

I realize both are less common with Radical considered pretty rare..but I am trying to potentially keep rarity out of the equation and would appreciate folks weighing in on which machine they'd recommend. I like the shots and flow in both games and realize there may be more to do in mousin with mousin considered a more challenging game. I know that most folks who have played or owned a radical seem to love it.

I'd appreciate your recommendations and why.

Thanks!

Both are very good games! Both are keeps for me.

My advice for you is to purchase the one you like more based on shoot layout. Looking at your collection you seems to like more flippers and loaded games (besides GB) so guessing radical is more your style.

From a purely price perspective the radical sounds like the better deal in general terms without knowing condition (which I would question why that person had not already sold locally based on price).

Good luck and lee is posted.

Honestly. But both. I don’t think you will regret it.

I have a lot of time on both.

I’d give radical the slight edge. Super cool ramps. Just a blast to play.

Mousin is as well though, and can be had for much cheaper. Both generally have crappy peeling cab decals.

Radical is much more sought after.

I honestly would not pass up either.
In ranking of sys11 games I both at top tier along w wwind and space station and earth shaker.

Right behind those is Rollergames

I really appreciate the opinions. I definitely dig the variety and volume of ramps in radical...there doesn't seem to be another pin like it. I just want to make sure that people are not generally interested in radical purely because it's rare and not because of gameplay. I've played radical a fair amount but haven't been on one in quite some time. I've played mousin more recently because we had it in league.

Tough decision and I'm thankful for the oppty to get either one of these machines in nice condition at a reasonable price.

Slight edge towards Radical. I dig the layout on that pin, especially the ramps.

Mousin is great too. Though I've yet to play a very nice example, I still get the feel of the layout.

Try to get both if you can. Otherwise, Radical is the one I'd go for. I think it just has a more interesting layout.

Tough call.
Radical seems like the better deal (although I'm not sure how much the shipping will cost you).
The edge to having Mousin' Around in the home is that there are a lot of them on location that are just beat to piss and don't have flippers strong enough to do anything. I always think it's nice having a game in a collection that people are peripherally aware of, but having one that is in extraordinarily nice shape and well taken care of.
Only ever played Radical at a collectors house, once. Fun but didn't leave a huge impression on me.

For those early Sys11s, obviously the dealbreaker is what music do you like better?

I know which one I'd pick

I can say 100% that radical is a great player! It is desired for the game. The price is because it is rarer than many sys11 AND good.

Truth be told, there are lots of rare games that suck and the price reflects it. Radical does not suck

If they were the exact same price and value, exact same condition, exact same ease of pick up... I would probably get Radical first by a slight hair.
That said... I still suggest both. They are a really good pairing of sys11 games for your collection.

curious OP... is there a reason you are not buying them both?

They are both on your wishlist, so seems odd not to jump.

Limited funds? Limited space? If so then consider selling GB as from the looks of it... after you buy 1 of these, you will be hunting the other if I predict accurately Once you get your first real classic... you will likely hunt out other early ss, late ss, and alphanemerics

Once again, appreciate others who have weighed in. To answer the question on why not both...I don't have the space. I'm at 4 machines plus a bally skill roll right now and have room for another pin. If that wasn't a factor, I probably would go for both. Regarding GB, I actually was not a fan of that pin at all when it came out. Always loved the theme and the volume of stuff on the playfield, but didn't like the mode start/progression and the code. When they completely overhauled the code a while back, I started playing it again on location and started to love it. That said, GB will likely be the first pin I rotate out, but not ready yet. I'd either use the proceeds of the GB sale to go for another nice TZ (probably my favorite pin and miss my old one), perhaps a new pin like the upcoming JJP GnR (if it's good), or possibly a deadpool premium.

I had a Mousin' for about 12 years. I just sold it a few months ago to get an MBr.

While I loved the game, the rest of the family never really cared for it, and over time it got less and less played.

I haven't played a Radical in many years, and honestly don't really remember it all that well.

Radical with the new updated rom is even better.

this one is easy for me. RADICAL all the way. not just because of the layout and complexity of the design, but the ART is AMAZING!!! probably John Youssi's BEST art package, aside from TZ.

Mousin is fun and a very neat theme integration. however, it is a very simple layout with far fewer shots than RADICAL. on top of all that, RADICAL seems to be priced low at 3500; go buy that bad boy.

#14 80 days ago

Pretty sure I'm going for the Radical. The price ended up being $3750, which I still think is a great price for a nice example of this title. Appreciate all those who weighed in!
