I have a Radical! and I could help you with some pics, but honestly, on page 2-19 of the manual it shows a diagram of how the mech goes together, I'm not sure any of my pics would be any better than that.

If I'm understanding you correctly, and I'm not sure that I am, that is the rod that is pulled down by the coil to snap the diverter down. It's an odd diverter, it's pulled down to snap down, then pulled down again to release.

it's been a while since I worked on this part of my game, if nobody else knows off the top of their head, I could take a look at it tonight when I get home from work.

I need to refer to my game, but it got folded up yesterday because I'm moving. I've got a contractor coming Monday to demo the wall keeping me from getting my games in the basement, but it could be a week before they are down and set up.
